Flat battery/ can't open at to charge battery
#1
As title I have a flat battery so the remote locking does not work and drivers key hole doesn't work and there is no key hole on the boot.
I have tried the passenger door which I know the key opens because I used that when the remote battery went flat but now the pin on the door card rises but door is still locked.

I have a 3 dr and I'm going to try connecting jump leads to starter motor but obviously won't start as there is a immobiliser and it's diesel so won't have help from glow plugs like this.

Will doing this give power to the battery to unlock with remote?
If that fails how does the rear quarter window come off do the round plastic bits unscrew from the out side like my mates 3door escort does so I can open the door or bonnet from inside

Yeah get underneath and put a jump lead on the starter terminal and a bit of chassis! Just dont catch the solenoid wire and run yourself over!

if you can get to starter, yeah, throw 12v on the main power cable, that or the 12v cable from the alternator, which ever is easiest, and then negative just to an earth somewhere
Wishes for more power...

Or just pop the bonnet from underneath? By far the easier/safer thing to do

Had a look today and had no luck connecting it to the starter so was going to try it on the alternator cable but the a/c pump is in the way. Then took the rear number plate light out and connected the jump lead to that and lit all the sidelights up even the dash but still didn't unlock with key or remote.

What side does the bonnet release run I know the handle is on the drivers side but what side does it run in the bay. My corsa was on drivers but went around the engine then came round from the drivers.

Bonnet release cable runs along the drivers side.

Perfectly safe to just go under and put 12v to starter / alternator, just use a bit of speaker cable...its only to work the central locking...the car istn going to crank off a bit of 1mm speaker flex Wink and if the batterys flat its not going to matter if you short the starter Wink

Ok thanks. I'll have a better look tomorrow. I tried today and could not see the power cable for the starter but my torch wasn't that good at the time.

Is the drivers lock not just seized? Nearly Snapped my key the first time I used it, wd40 it whenever I do something else now.

No the whole thing turns but even if I hold it in place you can hear it turn inside but I think the rod has come off that connects to the mechanism

The drivers side does nothing but the passengers use to work as I recall but tried yesterday and the pin goes up and down but doesn't actually unlock.
Would it work if I turned it a bit harder then do you think?

I went to try that today HDIKyle so grabbed my spare key and tried it but still nothing so thought I'm going to force the key and if it snapped no worries I still have the infa red one and I heard a snapping noise and had a look and the key was still in the keyhole so tried the handle and it had opened.
But only had about 1-2inches between the 306 and my old corsa (storage shed) ha and that's also flat So just pushed it down the drive into a bush so I can use my 306 again now. It's in charge at the moments.

Thanks HDIKyle
