What lowering springs
#1
Are all the springs the same just different load ratings i.e, from 1.4petrol being low rating and 1.9-2L diesel high load rating.

I have a 1.9 dturbo and been offered some 40mm lowering springs but not sure if there off a petrol if they are would they fit but sit lower about 50mm-60mm instead of 40

Gti and xsi are fairly similar weights iirc, as are hdi and xud, 1.4 and 1.6

Are all the springs interchangeable not just HDi-xud and 1.4-1.6. Something like 1.4-xsi and gti-xud stuff like that. I'm thinking of getting some 40mm's tempereraly until I get coil overs. But if there off a smaller petrol would they still fit a xud just be softer and a bit lower than 40mm

If you got like 40mm 1.4 springs and put them on a gti you'd be more on 60mm drop? with bad handling due to the spring rates or something

A right I get you. What about 1.8/2L petrol springs on a dturbo.

1.8s are pretty light, XUD is heavier, GTi is heavier still lol.

If they're only temp, does it really matter? But if you're keeping them, just get the right ones for your engine lol. Smile

Yeah like tom says dont put gti6 springs on a 1.4 i doubt youd get hardly any.drop due to weight.
