You can get bargains though, my TD04 was £23, my GT20 was £50, and it was mint, fully cleaned etc. Need to look out for badly advertised things on Ebay.

Yep agreed but the question I was asking is have most people with a td04 had the wastegate welded for it to fit??

Or atleast with cj's adaptors??

Yeah most people do, I did. It is harder to fit the actuator down the back. I wouldn't worry too much about it over speeding and blowing it, they are pretty bulletproof. Just get an EGT gauge to keep an eye on temps.

Downside of welded gate, you need to run less fuel than if you had a gate, which will decrease power slightly. Still make good power though.

Thats the answer I was looking for! Was only saying this because I have a tmic and was planning on keeping it for a while.

So i would be running it on 22 / 25 psi and was concerned about the fuel I would need to be running, If it was possible

Cheers

This is all based on the experiences you've had with your turbo's but will certainly be different with different setups/turbos.

I used the k03 manifold you have.
I made up an adaptor plate from a subaru up pipe and welded it to the manifold.
Ive kept the use of the wastegate and it doesnt foul on anything.

K03 manifold is a bit restrictive however, although it means it doesnt lag as much as using a t2 manifold would.

how did you manage to keep actuator?
after clocking turbo for 306 fitment the actuator/bracket is well off
