Post: RE: Fuel Primer

Are you sure your fuel sender is returning the right value? i.e. your tank is showing 1/4 full but it's actually nearly empty, and 1/2 is really only 1/4?

Post: RE: 3 sets of glow plugs in 3 months???? HELP

Have you been using cheap glow plugs? If so, get yourself Bosch Duraterm plugs and you'll probably find they'll be alright. Get your alternator tested to make sure it's not outputting too much voltage...

Check the intercooler D seal hasn't split or blown out as it can leak from there and be difficult to find. They're usually a few quid from a dealer. I had that issue once before.

Sounds like a dodgy connection on the bulb. Take it out and have a play, maybe even replace the bulb. See how that plays out before replacing the unit.

Is it possible to put the HT leads on the wrong plugs when refitting? If so I'd double check they're right.

Digital multimeter. Does sound like an earth or other connection issue. I'd check everything is tight on the alternator and that nothing is worn or frayed.

I sometimes found that the car would cut out and then not start again because of it too. I sometimes had to use the prime grenade to pressurise the system again. Was always OK from cold though.

Sounds like the belt is slipping, causing the PS pump to slow down and the alternator to slow down. Tighten up/get a new belt and you should be good to go.
