Have a look at the fuel control relay, big brown relay behind the ecu. They're very common to have dodgy connections, unplug it and have a good look for burnt out pins or corrosion on the relay itself...

It is, but you'll need to remove the top mount and lower the engine on a jack.

Much more likely to be a dodgy injector. Inlet manifold is possible to get off on the car, but it's a bastard of a job.
