They're both made of aluminium, have the same size and number of pipes, and the same fin spacing, so I guess the only difference related to cooling is a bit more fin surface area on the thicker one. ...

Cheers! So don't need to bother holding on the brakes or anything then - is that because an impact wrench just sort of hits the bolt rather than turning it?

Yeah good point, it would be worth the extra money to prevent me from worrying about it tbh - especially since there is a sqeaking noise coming from the engine bay!   I think I'll get him to change...

Thanks for the replies, guess I should have the timing belt changed! As far as I can tell, the idler and tensioner increase the cost by about 3-4 times, so whats the consensus on replacing those? ...

Yeh that's the yearly interval people seem to give for the timing belt.  I'll make a separate thread on here to ask though, just to be sure, since I can't find anything in the manual about it. Sorr...

Adjusted the shoes on the n/s drum by turning the adjuster wheel through one of the wheel bolt holes. But I tightened it too much so the brake is stuck on, and for some reason I can't turn the adjuste...
