How do you get more volume from components without them just distorting?
Friend if mine has an active sub and some amped 6x9s in his focus and they go way louder and sound better than my setup.

I have amped alpine components up front and amped vibe components in the shelf, they all run off of one kenwood 4 channel amp.

Would a bigger better amp give me better quality? No point going much more power because the components are rated to around the same as what the amp is kicking out rms (cant remember numbers off top of my head)

Thanks all Smile

When I had mine I had mine set up with zero bass and treble and mids turned up.
Then ran a sub with epic bass.

Was pretty sick tbh

Definitely this ^^

First, you need to know the rms (not peak. Will be the lower of the two readings) power of both sets of speakers. Generally what you would do is turn the gain down to minimum on both channels on your amp, turn the head unit volume to full then crank the gain up on the amp till you get distortion then knock it down a touch.
If you have a sub, as Matt said, using the low pass filter on your amp will give you the illusion of louder clearer sound on your speakers whilst the sub does what it does best and rattles the doors off!

Dont have a sub, the rms of the components is around 70/80watts dont know exactly. Will go look at the amp in a minute and see what settings i have, probably take a picture to bring back here aswell Smile
