Hooking up lightboard lights to a 306? - Pipps - 08-01-2013

Has anyone used a lightboard with their 306?

I have just bought a Thule 976 lightboard and rear bike-rack online. The lightboard apparently comes with a 7-pin plug for hooking up the lights.

Where should I plug this 7-pin in when I come to attaching the bike-rack to my 306?

Edit: Inserted link, for clarity.

Krisb has got a light board in the back of his 405, im sure he could give you a couple of pointers. Smile

Edit: scratch that, I'm thinking of a different kind of light board.

I'll get my coat. Doh

I belive the 7 pin plug is the tow bar electrics but I may be wrong

id say it would be the tow bar electrics. if you need to wire one up heres a diagram that should help wire them into the rear lights.

thats the diagram for ph1-ph2 rear light conversion but should tell you what colour each wire is.

Will Scotchlok connectors be required for this?

you will probably need something like this wired into the rear lights and yes scotch locks will do

the board will probably have a plug on the end of the wire you will need to wire a socket into the cars rear lights

In the end I got a Maypole MP843, so that I could hook-up the 7-pin plug inside the boot.

But installing it is providing harder than I expected. New thread to follow.
