I have the handbrake and oil light on my dashboard, they are very dim and are only on when the ignition is off. I noticed my positive battery cable is loose because of corrosion and has broken slightly, could this be it?

be thing to start with...especially as its need fixing anyway.
then check the multiplug on the chassis leg near the battery.
check earths too...there is one near the throttle pedal
