RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Leemus - 07-05-2013 chris that yellow skylines m mates, corsa havent a clue tho. think these wheels are marmite, but i love that so thats all that counts RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - declantg - 07-05-2013 This car is utter porn RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Seid' - 07-05-2013 much better mate, but dont like the lime :| RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Leemus - 07-06-2013 mini update had a little photoshoot with my mate Kat in her mx5, cars wernt clean but we were bored and it was a good day. cars floating on water haha I had a problem with my hub and driving 400miles with 3 studs and nuts problem free, i had a new hub ready to go on but as i was getting some spacers machined down i was waiting for them to come back before fitting it. After the ace cafe i hit a dip in the road at 70mph and 2 of the nuts came loose, i tightened them up and the didn't drive it again until i went to get the hub replaced. went a mile down the road and stopped off for breakfast before going to get the hub replaced and it was loose again, tightened them up as hard as i could and from one end of the car park to the other they loosened yet again. i decided to take the risk of tightening them up again and lipping it to the nearest garage 1/4 down the road. About 25meters from the garage i pulled over and found this..... yet another stud missing and one barely held in :/ i popped to the garage over the road and they couldn't fit me in and as i had a show the next day i desisted to pay to get recovered and taken to a garage (which my mate organised for £100 for recovery and repair minus parts) While changing the hub the new wheel baring went in and collapsed so had to fork out for yet another one (they tested it and gave me money back) but while they were putting the hub back on with a snap on gun and a spanner they accidentally dropped the spanner onto my wheel which was below the car and chipped it in a few places they are fixing it but still. Should be collecting it monday, fingers crossed its a good job as i said if you paint it they have one attempted otherwise im taking it to my own place for £80 heres a good shot from modified nationals heres a shot from a cruise in stevenage And heres my new gear nob had it for months but finally got round to fitting it which fitted surprisingly easy Also emptied the air tank with any build up of water, mate though there would be loads in but only about a shot full of crap RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Leemus - 07-08-2013 bit of a update. went FCS the other day which i was in the styled paddock , good day out this year at castle combe, then straight after drove to the Belgium, on the m25 a crane crashed so was a massive traffic jam in which i had to pull over twice as car over heated haha, only pulled over for a minute or 2 each time but still. Was late to my train but was all good once i got off in france there was a massive storm all the way, Was epic to watch as ive seen nothing like it! About 2/3rds of the way to the hotel it rained like mad to the point everyone was doing 5mph on the motorway in the first to lanes while i was doing 20mph in the fast lane by myself, aquaplaning like mad and quite literal putting waves of water right over the top of the cars in the middle lane! water was around 6inch deep :/ Anyways did the Nighteam event the next day and managed to win a trophy for top 20 Drove home and wheel nearly came off :/ lucky made had a jack and missed that train back aswell then 2 hours sleep and into work at 5am Ive put alot of interior parts into the body shop, and had a dash flocked but after fitting it did fit as it was a phase1 dash so slightly different so going to get the one in the car flocked instead at a laster date. Heres a few pics anyways my trophy and what i brought from stop and shop and a few pics from USC, 2 with my mates skyline in the background also finally got round to getting this put on RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Pete - 07-08-2013 Cosworth wheels are awesome. Still love this car. RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - rd070707 - 07-08-2013 Give me a heads up if they are ever for sale. DIBS! RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Dum-Dum - 07-08-2013 You don't have alot of luck with wheels coming off. Any idea whats causing it? RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Leemus - 07-08-2013 f*ck noes, but as i got proper hubcentric spacers well only on that wheel other 3 im waiting back from workshop the wheel stayed on as 3 bolts just came out. ive ordered another set of studs and nuts to see if its any better. since changing hub tho this is the only time they came loose, last time they snapped off RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - padge - 08-08-2013 make it faster! RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Leemus - 08-08-2013 haha, well my wilwood callipers turned up today so get them painted then on they go. also got some show dust caps haha hopefully start doing a few bits for interior over next month or two RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Tonyhdi - 12-09-2013 Nice to see this car again absolutly loved owning this beast, I managed a 15.1 1/4 mile, owned the car for over 2 years. Quick pic of when I owned it carbon bonnet and carbon little mirrors RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Leemus - 12-09-2013 yes! i saw this at FCS many many moons ago and loved it, ending up buying it from i presume the guy you sold it to, wheels were f*cked, both bumpers needed respraying and it had a red bonnet and standard mirrors. When i saw it up for sale i had to buy it! never knew it would be such a bit project as this lol RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Pete - 12-09-2013 (12-09-2013, 08:55 AM)Tonyhdi Wrote: Nice to see this car again absolutly loved owning this beast, I managed a 15.1 1/4 mile, owned the car for over 2 years. RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Tonyhdi - 12-09-2013 Yeah from Wakefield, sold it to kid local then he sold it on then that kid sold the bonnet and mirrors made it look pants! Yeah used to run it at York beating those gti boys was good. RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - E_KEL95 - 12-09-2013 Dont like the whole smoothed back and led lights on this this itd look far better standard but thats my opinion.. howd you get the cosworth alloys to fit..? RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - cwspellowe - 12-09-2013 (12-09-2013, 05:17 PM)E_KEL95 Wrote: howd you get the cosworth alloys to fit..? Just a guess here, but I think he lined up the holes with the holes on the hub and put these threaded metal things in the holes to hold it all together. Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - devils_fuel - 12-09-2013 If those wheels were RS green then [HEAVY BLACK HEART][HEAVY BLACK HEART] RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - E_KEL95 - 12-09-2013 (12-09-2013, 05:22 PM)cwspellowe Wrote:(12-09-2013, 05:17 PM)E_KEL95 Wrote: howd you get the cosworth alloys to fit..? Haha smart fucker, tried them on my car and didnt fit so i wanta know how he managed to put them on.. RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - cwspellowe - 12-09-2013 What do you mean, didn't fit? IIRC Cossies are 16" and ET25ish, which may be a little too inset in the arches but i'm sure Lee's running spacers. Bolt pattern is the same so should line up fine. RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - sam - 12-09-2013 He has a stud conversoin, standered pug bolts don't fit through the holes in the cossie wheels RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Midnightclub - 12-09-2013 Isn't the centre bore completely different too? RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Dum-Dum - 12-09-2013 Cossie wheels should be a direct fit bar possibly needing spacers and a spigot ring as the ford center bore is larger. Shouldn't even have an issue with bolts as both the ford and pug are M12 (although not the same pitch) Edit: actually Lee there's a thought, are you running spigot rings in the wheels as running without could be the cause of your falling off wheels? RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - PUGNUT_XS - 12-09-2013 wow oh wow oh woweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee what a pug i love the wing vents RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - cwspellowe - 12-09-2013 (12-09-2013, 08:01 PM)Dum-Dum Wrote: Edit: actually Lee there's a thought, are you running spigot rings in the wheels as running without could be the cause of your falling off wheels? No it couldn't. Spigot rings don't hold the wheels on. RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - E_KEL95 - 12-09-2013 When i tried them on they where hitting the coilover, but if you put spacers on theyd be sticking way out past the wings, if i can get them on ive a set i wanta put on while my bros sierra is off the road RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Dum-Dum - 12-09-2013 (12-09-2013, 08:25 PM)cwspellowe Wrote:(12-09-2013, 08:01 PM)Dum-Dum Wrote: Edit: actually Lee there's a thought, are you running spigot rings in the wheels as running without could be the cause of your falling off wheels? They don't hold the wheels on per se but the weight of the car is transferred through the center bore of the wheel and it takes alot of the stress. Without the spigot rings the wheels can try to move about a little easier than if they are seated properly and once they have started to work the nuts loose they'll quickly become very loose. Oh and for those that are interested the wheels are 8" wide RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - cwspellowe - 12-09-2013 (12-09-2013, 09:01 PM)Dum-Dum Wrote:(12-09-2013, 08:25 PM)cwspellowe Wrote:(12-09-2013, 08:01 PM)Dum-Dum Wrote: Edit: actually Lee there's a thought, are you running spigot rings in the wheels as running without could be the cause of your falling off wheels? No it isn't Are you telling me that the 5 or 6mm of metal on each of the hubs holds all 1200+kg of car? And that a bit of plastic will effectively fill that gap without crushing under the weight? It's the friction of the mating face of the wheel against the hub that bears the weight of the car. I ran no spigots for months and the car didn't randomly fall over. All they do is centre the wheel to keep it in balance. Flat seated nuts and no spigots is asking for trouble though if the nuts can't clamp the wheel tight enough. Even then, you'd end up feeling the wheels way out of balance before anything fell off. RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - rd070707 - 12-09-2013 Oh and ford centre bore is smaller not larger than Peugeot. Its 63.4mm whereas Peugeot is 65.1mm RE: Leemus's pride and joy Sooty :D - Leemus - 14-09-2013 ford spacer machines down to fit pug hub, finally found a proper set of studs, pug to ford thread with proper ford nuts was really up for doing the interior then i brought a bmw e46 325Ci which im playing around with atm, but interior will get started on soon maybe haha |
