Indeed they are if you mean the semi ECU VE pumps... Not always if there VP 37 tho.

RE: bosch plunger - karl1989 - 04-01-2013

ah ok cheers for that Smile

OR..

go hunting for a cheap 10 or 11mm plunger. JOb jobbed.

RE: bosch plunger - karl1989 - 04-01-2013

witch is better. been told the 11 is smokey but mine is smokey on a 9mm anyways

heres the smoke Confused. smoking green derv

RE: bosch plunger - cwspellowe - 04-01-2013

Depends how much fuel you throw in lol

You can run a leaner max fuel setting as there's more fuel injected per stroke, so theoretically you could run settings similar to the 9mm. Turn the fuel way up though and yeah, it'll smoke!

RE: bosch plunger - karl1989 - 04-01-2013

think ill go with the 10mm and get it tuned properly. any one fancy tuning when it done feel free Smile

RE: bosch plunger - cwspellowe - 04-01-2013

I've been looking at 10mm heads too.

Have a look at the 90-something bhp VW's, a lot of them used 10mm heads but don't know which ones fit. Trial and error I guess,,,

RE: bosch plunger - karl1989 - 04-01-2013

ill go to the scrap yard and take a few apart Smile. just text the guy about the pump. think its in bits so will need building up Sad

RE: bosch plunger - cwspellowe - 04-01-2013

Not too complicated a job as long as all the bits are there. if it's been apart for long though check everything for corrosion, last thing you want is a knobbly cam plate or something

Probably not going to concern you if you're going for a different size, so sorry to hijack, but am I right or wrong in thinking that plunger, head and control collar all run such fine tolerances that they need to changed together as a set?
