epic stuff. The deals on halfords tools are epic. I got the 150 piece kit last christmas for £99.99 and it has been absolutely essential! Really do recommend them!

More ratchet spanners as well it looks like, looks good anyway!

RE: spent my christmas money :D - cwspellowe - 29-12-2012

Erm, looks like there's no ratchet spanners in the new kits?

My set a couple of years ago was £99 and came with three double ended ratchet spanners too

exactly what I got and the same deal too.

i think the 170piece does have ratcheted spanners. Instead of being double ended and two sizes The ratchet is at one and and the open at the other end. Think there are possibly more spanners in the 150 but the 170 has more 1/4" T pieces etc.

RE: spent my christmas money :D - Slam Wagon - 29-12-2012

all the spanners are ratchets

RE: spent my christmas money :D - Chris_90 - 30-12-2012

I bought one of them 150 piece sets last year, and this year i bought the 12 piece ratchet spanner set, no doubt next year i will do same agin but some other different set. Best if you use the Christmas day offer 10% off if you reserve Christmas day, Thats why i always end up with tools boxing day lol

RE: spent my christmas money :D - Face. - 30-12-2012

I noticed this today, they're plastic!? What happened to the metal ones from the previous boxes! Dodgy

I was gonna purchase one today, seeing as it'd replacve the 3 tool kits I keep in the car and I'd get ratchet spanners which I dont have atm..........but they'd all sold out. Sad Despite thier stock checker saying they had some lol.

yes most kits i have seen even the one i use for work has plastic clips,
they soon break but i make up an elastic strap to go round the box holds it together and stops it sliding around the car boot Wink

RE: spent my christmas money :D - Piggy - 30-12-2012

tbh...it may be halfrauds...but an old mechanic mate used them and due to the no quibble lifetime replacement guarantee...he didnt care if they broke...just went and got a new one for free!

I was using elastic rope with hooks to hold mine still in the boot....lasted all of a week before the elastic strethed lol. I'm trying to find some sort of large velcro strap to fit on the inner wheel arch in the boot to hold a tool box, the same as the one that holds the jack in the estate. But no idea what it's called or where to find one!

Hes lucky then because they wont replace them if they are for professional use (despite the fact they are called halfords pro)
Could just buy Snap on if its your trade and not have to worry about breaking them. Unless of course you do something stupid with them!

spent my christmas money :D - vlj - 30-12-2012

Halfords are pretty good. ive never broken any of their tools but im told they will replace them most of the time without even seeing the receipt.

RE: spent my christmas money :D - Jimmyboycheck - 30-12-2012

I walked into my local with a twisted ratchet and they replaced it on the spot, no receipt or questioning at all Smile

I'm pretty tempted to go and get one myself as there are some really useful tools (particularly the ratchet spanners) and there are a few pieces missing from my Teng set now.

RE: spent my christmas money :D - Strikeforce - 30-12-2012

I got the 150pc set a month or so ago and the medium sized ratched seized up on its first use
They did exchange it without even asking for the recipt or any questions tho so not bad at all
