Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - silverzx - 11-12-2012

Went and picked my new car up on Saturday.

It's a white 3 door 205 in XLD spec (poverty spec - manual windows, cloth seats etc) with a XUD 1.9DT engine fitted by WelshPug.

Been resprayed recently so body is very good condition, inside is also very clean, a very "retro" feel to the components and dash compared to the 306.

Here's some pictures:

Big list of things to do but should make a change from the 306 which I've had for almost two and a half years now.

Spec list to date (updated 16/01/2015):

Done:
Lower front (40mm 306 springs)
Refurb speedlines
Converted back to standard H4's
Replaced battery
Replace alternator (twice)
Boost gauge
Re-wire radio loom
Junction box for gauges on manual switch
"no smoke, no poke!" sticker
Aero wipers
Oil, oil filter and fuel filter
266mm HDi front brakes + DOT 5.1
Extended speedo cable

Parts Sitting Around:
Rev counter (STDT cluster)
GTI subframe (need wish bones)
Central locking kit

So there we have it, my new coaling machine.

Comments welcome. Blush

Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - Sambarker - 12-12-2012

I've got a set of clocks from a stdt with rev gauge to fit in my xud 309. If you work out how to wire them up give me a shout! ( I haven't even attempted it yet)

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - ginge191 - 12-12-2012

205's seem to be the way forward Big Grin
saw this up, clean little motor, shame it's 3 door Popcorn

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - silverzx - 12-12-2012

Cheers for all the comments guys!

@Daniel306 - No plans, probably will just FMIC it rather then messing around with the TMIC. On that note, would a Xantia manifold fit under the bonnet? Only one way to find out I guess!

@DumDum - How much did you pay for your 2.1 conversion? Tongue

@SamBarker - I'll let you know mate. Might end up with an after market counter but well wait and see.

@Puglove - I know the feeling mate but it has a year MOT, more or less standard/unmolested, lots of new parts, couldn't justify NOT getting it lol!

@Ginge - Nothing wrong with 3 doors! 3 doors = track spec, 5 doors = i have kids spec.

Finish uni for Xmas on Friday so going to be spending some good hours on it over the Xmas period!

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - puglove - 12-12-2012

Think you should just sel it to me after xmas dude Tongue

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - pugtk - 12-12-2012

Fit power steering? f*ck that! It's light enough anyway! More fun to drive without it Big Grin

I loved driving my 205

Also seen this on 205 forum and from the pictures looks proper mint!

Defo worth doing a stage 1 tune in till you fit the bosch pump makes lot of difference Smile

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - silverzx - 26-12-2012

Could use a hand fitting my spare bosch to this at some point over next few weeks.

Heart Ruan Heart where are you. Inlove

Looks smart. So is this replacing your 306?

Bit of a shame but 205s are awesome!

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - silverzx - 29-12-2012

Yeah, looking forward to getting the suspension and brakes sorted on it, always hear good thinks about 205's. Almost as much rave as Integra's!

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - silverzx - 08-02-2013

Not really a lot to update, the clutch is dead, boost gauge is in, rewired the radio loom and have ordered a switch for it as I had a few problems with the ignition live.

Really looking forward to having a working clutch in it as I haven't even driven the car properly yet!

Comments welcome as always.

Haha no I haven't mate.

Will be doing aux belt tomorrow or sunday so I'll measure that up which will be a start for working out what we need to know to use the W terminal I believe?

Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - Sambarker - 08-02-2013

Can't be that hard to wire it up properly. I have a 1998 306 engine in the 309 with the plug from the flywheel sensor thing. And I have some 205 stdt clocks with a rev gauge so surely it's just a case of a 12v, an earth and a feed of some sort? Can't be that hard!!

Trouble is with a universal rev gauge is that it will need to be calibrated with some sort of laser gun or something?

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - silverzx - 08-02-2013

I would of thought you could wire the tacho sensor from flywheel to the standard STDT clocks which you say you have.

Pretty sure thats how the standard 'STDT' & 'DTURBO' models rev counters work..

RE: Silverzx's White 205 1.9 DT XUD - ginge191 - 08-02-2013

Why not use an aftermarket rev counter?

Cos they're gash. Unless you get one about 100mm with a f*ck off shift light at 6 grand!
