Rear beam mounts - Ricky - 08-12-2012 In urgent need of a set of beam mounts as one of my solid mounts is broken. Prefer solid, will take standard if they are in good condition. Thanks RE: Rear beam mounts - Piggy - 08-12-2012 broken?! how in the hell?! RE: Rear beam mounts - Ricky - 08-12-2012 One of the studs on a front mount has broken and fallen inside. May just buy some new bakerbm's instead. RE: Rear beam mounts - Scott - 08-12-2012 Ricky which one is it? I'm going to Baker tomorrow morning so might be able to ask how much a single unit would be for you. RE: Rear beam mounts - Ricky - 09-12-2012 They aren't baker ones that I have, they look like custom made ones, from the '6 forum. RE: Rear beam mounts - Oil-burner - 09-12-2012 You've done we'll to snap one of them mate! RE: Rear beam mounts - Ricky - 09-12-2012 I think they are quite old. It's just annoying! RE: Rear beam mounts - Jenkosowls - 09-12-2012 Iv heard of certain solid rear beam mounts breaking before and always seem to be from the same source RE: Rear beam mounts - Birk - 09-12-2012 Well it's either me or daveyboy? The studs are only pressed in place by pug, I weld them in, so they don't move. RE: Rear beam mounts - Ricky - 09-12-2012 I don't know I bought them second hand over a year ago on the 6 forum. Will get a picture to show what's happened, the other one is loose aswell so that will probably break soon aswell. RE: Rear beam mounts - Ricky - 09-12-2012 Would it break something if I used two standard mounts for the front and two solid ones on the back? I think I have a couple spare thinking about it. It would only be temp anyway. RE: Rear beam mounts - Birk - 09-12-2012 Nah man, it will be fine, I did the same when I accidentally made two right hand side front mounts lol I can imagine what's happend though, the studs have come loose. But the only way to rectify it, is to chop the lid off and weld them in, or buy a pair of new ones I'm afraid. RE: Rear beam mounts - Ricky - 09-12-2012 Yeah thought they would need chopping, will probably just buy some new ones anyway, maybe even standard ones for now. RE: Rear beam mounts - Rippthrough - 09-12-2012 Even with them being pressed in they shouldn't snap unless they were loose anyway, the nut clamps them up inside. RE: Rear beam mounts - Birk - 09-12-2012 I could knock a pair up in the next week for £60 RE: Rear beam mounts - Ricky - 09-12-2012 If you can make some real quick then yes please! Like before the end of the week? ![]() That's my broken one. RE: Rear beam mounts - Birk - 09-12-2012 It all depends on work. But I know I will be busy untill wed. So might be able to do some on Thursday/Friday. I don't think it has snapped off phill, just the stud has come out. He won't be able to pull it out because it's got a flat head on it, similar thing to a pop rivet if you like. I've found a few loose ones when making solid ones, so I always weld the studs in. RE: Rear beam mounts - Ricky - 09-12-2012 yeah that will be ok as I will just shove on two standard mounts on the front for now if I still have them. PM me payment details and I will send the money ![]() |
