Oil breather system pressurising?

Go wash your mouth out!!!

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - welshpug - 08-12-2014

ML box and stock 2.1 or a DW12 flywheel?

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Dum-Dum - 08-12-2014

I have a DW12 flywheel if it helps although the clutch is ruined.

The helix cover probably has a fair bit more clamping force

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Piggy - 08-12-2014

XUD11 flywheel is heavier but not bigger.

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - nominous - 08-12-2014

in gear boost (torque) control with the arudino.
Just another sensor and a little programming.

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Paul_13 - 08-12-2014

I won't make suggestions to try and help then. Big Grin
I've had that issue in the past which is why I said it

The CG pressure plate is just a standard Valeo with 3 grooves machined into it. It has no higher clamping pressure than oem, all the extra torque holding ability comes from the center plate, so you could in theory just buy a helix uprated pressure plate and hold mega torque.

Really!?!? This true!? Geeeeeeee
Guess that would be the weak point then!!
Its not a weak point per say, as its plenty good for what they rate it to, but it is your weak point with this setup. Given the extra friction of the cerametallic pucks i dont think you will need something with a massively higher clamping force to hold it.

Already have this in place.

But kind of defeats the whole idea.

May aswell have a slower spooling turbo!

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Ruan - 08-12-2014

No point in in gear torque control... The Arduino isn't controlling injection quantity, only boost control, you'd have a better effect just not putting your foot down... It'd just smoke like a twat when it's limiting boost...

Though clutches slip in high gears when you need the torque...

is 235mm not bigger than 215?

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Dum-Dum - 08-12-2014

The 406 2.2 HDi clutch (for which i have a dead one and a flywheel) is 240mm

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - nominous - 08-12-2014

The LDA is driven by the boost.
So if you limit the boost you should be limiting the fuel.
Boost thus being limited by TPS reading against RPM and MPH.

But yes, slipping in high gear, better clutch is needed. Boost control is about addressing wheel spin really. The clutch should be sorted first.

And that fits the XUD9 and inside the BE3 bell housing ??
Then that's the one to use surely ?!?

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Dum-Dum - 08-12-2014

I assume that it fits all the other DW/XU series engines, it certainly looks right. If someone drops over a spare BE series box we'll see if it fits. I assume it does.

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - welshpug - 08-12-2014

unlikely it'll fit in a BE box, DW10 would be the largest you'll fit at 230mm afaik.

Indeed the number 235 is bigger than the number 215

The xud11 flywheel however is identical in diameter to the xud9 one...hence why I went for the xud9 flywheel!

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Piggy - 08-12-2014

When everything does hook up nice....damn she goes well.
I mean, daaaaaaaaaaaayyyymn. She is running well. Runs a little cool if anything. But I can live with that!

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Toms306 - 08-12-2014

It's like 4c out, not surprising it runs a bit cool atm lol.

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Piggy - 08-12-2014

Aye but I drove to nuneaton and back. And hooooned a LOT!
Still did about 45-50mpg over the 100miles or so going by how little the needle moved!!

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Toms306 - 08-12-2014

The fuel needle? You should know you can't trust that. Tongue 50mpg's good considering though!

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Piggy - 08-12-2014

Its very trustyworthy to be honest.

As is the light

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Toms306 - 08-12-2014

Dunno how you've managed that. I've never had an accurate 306 gauge lol. They are more accurate at the bottom admittedly. Usually have ~50 miles of the light flickering before it comes on solid, then know I could get another 50 miles with the light on. But above that it was more accurate to just guess how much fuel there was. lol

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Tom - 08-12-2014

Dibs if you give up Big Grin

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Dum-Dum - 08-12-2014

If you get an ml box a 406 clutch will defo fit

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Piggy - 11-12-2014

406 clutch is all good and well... But do they make uprated clutches for a 406!?

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Dum-Dum - 11-12-2014

CG will make you an uprated clutch for whatever you like.

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Rippthrough - 12-12-2014

You could do it the old pikey way and fit 2 diaphragms in your stock pressure plate. However, does give a weird feel over centre and the travel is exaggerated because of the play between the two. Also need left leg like He-Man.

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - procta - 12-12-2014

how the hell you got the new clutch slipping? not that long since you dropped a recon one in?

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Piggy - 12-12-2014

Nope. About 2500miles i think

350-380ft lbs would do it though!!

RE: 2.1GTd...Clutch slip - Matt-Rallye - 12-12-2014

Shouldnt buy cheap CG shite!

Dude just buy a helix and be done with it!
