Always has to be a "snagging" period with these things, will be such a nice car when its all under control RE: GT 2.1 - dead. - Piggy - 07-10-2013 (07-10-2013, 10:23 AM)tenwierdufos Wrote: A good read through this thread! Just pulling your chain Bet you're glad you got it finished now RE: GT 2.1 - dead. - procta - 07-10-2013 (07-10-2013, 09:59 PM)devils_fuel Wrote:(07-10-2013, 09:32 PM)procta Wrote:(07-10-2013, 06:33 PM)devils_fuel Wrote: I kept you going but blimey you took ages finished??? I have still got more stuff to do! after seeing piggy's thread on a 2.1 306, maybe I should have done a 306 up in stead RE: GT 2.1 - dead. - Piggy - 09-10-2013 "SHE'S ALIVE!!" mwahahaha so...relocated oil cooler behind and lower down behind coolant rad. redone oil cooler connectors bypassed ac pump(removed for spring) and fitted a 6pk1200 belt to do this. refitted coolant rad into more conventional position and moved relay box too. all in aid of getting more air to the coolant rad and stopping mad vibrations on the oil cooler. drained what was left of oil...about a litre and half...replaced oil filter and refilled with oil. and she runs and drives as she should! bar the smell of hot oil due to still some oil underneath/on exhaust/rad fins etc!!! also taking chance to run another main 12v line from engine bay to battery...creating essentially a 32mm power cable. RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - tenwierdufos - 09-10-2013 Good news! glad to hear its back on the road. RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - procta - 10-10-2013 great stuff!! RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - Piggy - 10-10-2013 struggling to get 1st, 3rd and 5th. linkages are all adjustable and I can feel I just havnt got the length in leverage to select them...right pita. cant work out hoe to sort it neither RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - tenwierdufos - 11-10-2013 All of those gears are "fowards" on the lever arent they? (that question sounds rather stupid but you never know haha) Will be whichever linkage adjusts length of the forwards and back movement on the gear stick. RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - Piggy - 11-10-2013 its not quite that simple...think I got it done... just that 'minor' reoccuring oil leak!!! RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - Piggy - 14-10-2013 ok. so as most have probably noticed from seans spottes thread... I ended up in shelf of m5 coz of oil line...again. ordered some an/bsp fittings...lovely 27quid. had to buy oil at services too....not the best price I have ever paid!!!! anyway...got new bonnet and door...so once I get this ruddy oil cooler and coolant heating issues sorted...time to get polishing... oh yeah...once I done tuning, and removed all the AC. and fitted the rest of interior. and fitted ICE!! THEN start polishing!!! RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - Dum-Dum - 14-10-2013 What fittings do you have on your oil lines at the min? I never had an issue with blowing fittings off mine. RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - puglove - 15-10-2013 Oh james what are we going to do with you . On the up side atleast its had regular oil changes! Good selling point! RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - Piggy - 15-10-2013 hmmmm. the oil is now very clean!!! GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - devils_fuel - 15-10-2013 (14-10-2013, 10:39 PM)Piggy Wrote: ok. Need to add RAC membership to that list #trolling RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - Piggy - 16-10-2013 no, why would I do that when Im already with the green flag!? RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - Piggy - 16-10-2013 AC rad ripped out, fans moved onto coolant rad. FMIC in process of being moved back to allow more air flow. AN to bsp fittings arrived for my oil cooler. and I think I have found main culprit for the heating issue....the rear/lower coolant stat is stamped to open at 97degrees!! RE: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - Piggy - 24-10-2013 all well now lads! sits at 77/78 and when getting warm goes to 83/84 but never hotter! lots of relocating bits etc also sorted An fittings so no more horrid oil dribbles. oh and heres a video for ya all... obviously it was done on my little private lane near me. 3rd gear then into 4th. bit strangled top end, needs better filter setup I think so got some bits on order for that. Need to sort my EGT and EMP gauges now also its still only at 1.1bar...so that needs sorting!!! and that run was still about 15% veg, maybe 20%. Re: GT 2.1 - alive!!.....but for how long!? - vlj - 24-10-2013 Looking well RE: GT 2.1, GT2056s, 1.1bar - NeW vIdEo!!!! - Tom - 24-10-2013 That looks quick man, well played! RE: GT 2.1, GT2056s, 1.1bar - NeW vIdEo!!!! - martyn92 - 24-10-2013 Thats not bad at all RE: GT 2.1, GT2056s, 1.1bar - NeW vIdEo!!!! - Piggy - 25-10-2013 thanks..."not bad" isnt quite my ultimate goal so I'll keep at it RE: GT 2.1, GT2056s, 1.1bar - NeW vIdEo!!!! - Poodle - 25-10-2013 That looks pretty rapid man, fair play. |
