I know its a time consuming job but if you remove the timing belt pully too will the key way come out then to replace as it has a rounded bottom maybe a small centre punch and tap it out?

RE: The Racetractor... As broken as me :( - Uberderv - 11-03-2016

Yup, 2.1 pulley is different but I managed to get one on EBay for about 40 quid..

RE: The Racetractor... As broken as me :( - Piggy - 11-03-2016

Yeah I think I've just managed to find one by just using a gates part number for about £38... Waiting for confirmation

Thought was about time to fit an "oem" inlet air temp gauge

RE: The Racetractor... Alive... Just my foot now - Eeyore - 25-03-2016

No video for that?

RE: The Racetractor... Alive... Just my foot now - zx_volcane - 25-03-2016

whats the deal with the air temp probe? where did you mount it, and what are the chances of it disintegrating and being eaten by the engine?

think you'll find that fitment is 'oem+'

Come look see sunday...

But I have videoed some of it i think... Fitted the probe about 2months ago...so have to dig out the footage.

But on the up side...the probe hasnt gone anywhere in that time...including getting spanked by ruan.

RE: The Racetractor... Alive... Just my foot now - Piggy - 28-03-2016

So few 100 miles done this weekend... Air temps around 8-10 degrees when off boost and cruising.
Cruising motor way speed, .7bar boost, about 17degrees.
Tanking it, about 29/30.

Also 200miles of hooning done, 40mpg. New low lol

Also knocked the throttle arm back a splime and wound in some more fuel, backed it off when it started to make revs hang....
Still only a haze on boost.
Lumpy idle now though

Don't forget the weigh in Wink

Ah yeah...no change there. Still 1000kg. Maybe a SHADE under as it had a full spec meridian seat in passenger side lol

FCS not that long away... Got a list I'm working through...some little things, but add up.

So far dropped the bonnet back down again off its dumb raisers.
Also finally stuck bolts in to stop the lexan windows sliding down lol

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - zx_volcane - 29-03-2016

Had a passenger ride out in this over the weekend - the way it picks up and covers ground is phenomenal, has been crying out for this extra fuel since the last time I was in it at FCS, has made a big difference - and without wanting to make your head too big it was fair rapid then. You can just torque your way through 3rd gear in that hdi box.

Grip from the tyres inspire a lot of confidence too, no hint of being anywhere near the limit of those AD08r.

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - Piggy - 29-03-2016

Funny enough its had more fuel but imo its more to do with the boost control, thanks to ruan spending couple hours in passenger seat while I hooned refining it...needs winding up just a tad now with fuel adjustment.

See to me, it feels, well, ok, but not rapid...maybe i have just got used to it!? Feels like it needs more lol

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - Mattcheese31 - 29-03-2016

always feels a lot faster in the passenger seat . .Smile

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - Paul Baldwin - 29-03-2016

After a spirited nearly 40 mile ride out in this I must say that as an overall package I was very impressed by it. While not being neck snappingly fast it certainly does cover the ground well. The rides really composed and as Tom says the tyres really do seem to inspire confidence, it felt like it had loads of grip from the passender seat Smile

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - Piggy - 04-04-2016

Needed asap!!

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - Piggy - 07-04-2016

It had to happen....

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - Piggy - 18-04-2016

This has just been a hoot to drive recently...then this happened today...

Pinhole leak in end of the leak off bung.

How or why I don't know but bash reminded me of something i have always wanted to do coz the bungs always leak...run it back and T it into the return.

So ordered a nice 3mm brass T piece. ThumbsUp

(zoom in on pic and you will see the little stream shooting up(!))

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - Seb_Ryan - 18-04-2016

Meh bit of pipe and a small bolt wins for me lol

Funny you mention that I saw my bung was perished as yesterday.

Fuel house really isn't up to standard nowadays

Fuel hose hasn't been up to standard for ages, dunno where to buy decent grade stuff these days.

leak off pipes fail all the time

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - welshpug - 18-04-2016

not o.e stuff, and its cheap.

anything aftermarket is wank however, mainly due to it all be 1/8th of an inch, where the p.e stuff is 3mm.

(1/8th is 3.2mm f.y.i)

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - bashbarnard - 18-04-2016

all the fuel hose i get from mpd and leakoff pipe have never leaked even with veg oil. and thats saying something. but yes i do run a t piece the injector end cars suck

RE: The Racetractor... Back2boost - welshpug - 18-04-2016

i have o.e psa stuff on my bmw, exactly the same stuff, less than 3rd of the price, injector bodies on the M51D25 look identical to XUD.
