RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Toms306 - 30-10-2015 Think of all the extra weight!! RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Toms306 - 30-10-2015 Heavy radiator and an extra 4 kilos of water is unnecessary weight. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Dum-Dum - 30-10-2015 Awwww, 10l, that's cute, with my bigger rad I think I put in 13 and that doesn't include the volume in the matrix. Aww thats cute. You willy waving about the amount of fluid your mazda takes RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Lwilliams - 31-10-2015 Thought it was the last show for this mate? You decided to keep it now then? RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - welshpug - 31-10-2015 bet you are fitting the driveshaft seal too deep. I have always flush fitted...if thats wrong then thats something new I need to learn. For 11years I have always been fitting flush fit without problems...so be surprised if it is that RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Toms306 - 31-10-2015 Flush fit is right, cheap seals are rubbish though. I only use the Febi ones now, not had an issue with those! RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 31-10-2015 (31-10-2015, 10:12 AM)Toms306 Wrote: Flush fit is right, cheap seals are rubbish though. Should do that today RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Paul_13 - 31-10-2015 Driveshaft seals should sit 3mm proud RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - welshpug - 31-10-2015 as above, there's two types, its not quite 3 mm I think. correction, 1.5 mm rh, 1mm lh. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Niall - 31-10-2015 Thats for the genuine ones. Ive used pattern before and never had any issues at all but they are not as deep so end up sitting flush. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - welshpug - 31-10-2015 depends, like I said there's two types, from genuine and aftermarket supply. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 31-10-2015 Always done them flush from the first time a experienced PSA technician showed me how 11yrs ago... Never had an issue yet. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - welshpug - 31-10-2015 half the "experienced psa technicians" I know of I wouldnt trust to do up my wheel bolts... Neither would I generally speaking... But I would trust this guy to make you look like a fool in a workshop. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - adam b - 31-10-2015 The lad knows a few things.. Back on topic, best get a track day sorted out for next year. I'd like to see how this goes away from videos RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 03-11-2015 (31-10-2015, 08:38 AM)Lwilliams Wrote: Thought it was the last show for this mate? You decided to keep it now then? until I have my replacement... yup. I think I am likely to make it to the drag strip in April. May well be its sending off. However... two things this month may either put nails in certain coffins or sign it off to crack on for 6 more months. Despite the knock.... It NEVER fails to make me smile. And the fact that cooling is SOOOO not an issue now... just makes hooning so much nicer. If I can find the knock, sort this leak and Novembers plans go to plan.... I will struggle to part company me thinks. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - RetroPug - 04-11-2015 It'd be a shame to get rid of it. It's something unique, that you built yourself which makes you happy. Isn't that pretty much ideal? RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 05-11-2015 (04-11-2015, 09:42 PM)RetroPug Wrote: It'd be a shame to get rid of it. It's something unique, that you built yourself which makes you happy. I am working flat out to try and pay off some things... in an effort to keep it. Also need to save for other things in pipeline... which getting rid of this would help a lot with. I am trying my best to keep it... but it would help to be paid what I am earning... I am owed about £1100 from customers at the moment... 2 months earnings for me. So things like that dont help. As said... Be great to keep it for a bit longer... I aim to try and make a proper decision by April 2nd. Thats the drag strip day! Oh yeah and I run a diesel track car as my work vehicle RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - RetroPug - 06-11-2015 (05-11-2015, 12:15 PM)Piggy Wrote:(04-11-2015, 09:42 PM)RetroPug Wrote: It'd be a shame to get rid of it. You'll always have the memory and satisfaction of knowing what you built but it'd be great if it kept giving you smiles for a long time now that you've gone through all the hardship of getting it to where it is now. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 14-11-2015 Went to sweet lamb for wrc yesterday. Spent about 8hrs in the car in all... Don't feel too bad this morning! Still got some grit in my eye and hair though She loved it... I did make a modification to aid in comfort... RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Dum-Dum - 16-11-2015 She looks good dirty. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 16-11-2015 Today is a good day. |
