Estate tailgate problem - Mutz - 16-11-2012
Right first of a few probs. GLX 1.6 petrol auto estate Ph3.
The tail gate doesnt unlock/lock with the rest of the doors, no power to the rear solenoid.Have had the panel off and accessed the rear solenoid and it moves freely and there is a closed circuit acroos the connections, i put a volt meter on the plug supplying the solenoid and get nothing..
I dont have a haynes manual, so where should i look for the connections or control box?
The remote also doesnt work but i can live with out the remote.

Bit of an awkward one then i guess!!
Or am i the only one to have a defective tailgate? lol.

I would start looking at the loom for broken wires to be honest, where it joins the body.

C2K, Spot on mate!! found 2 broken wires in the rubber gaiter. Solenoid now works, and heated rear screen works as well.
