Aux belt - David - 15-11-2012

How do I tighten my aux belt as the noise it doing my head in.

RE: Aux belt - Kwik - 15-11-2012

depends if you got air con or not

Jack it up, wheel off, arch liner out and then look for the tensioner, it will be the pulley which is just bolted to the block, not the crank pulley/pas pump pulley/alternator etc.

Then just loosen the tensioner and move it round so the belts tighter then tighten the not back up.

Is it squeeling when cold or constantly?

RE: Aux belt - David - 17-11-2012

It's still on the car and I have to drive down there to get it.

Should be ok to drive without it, you just won't have an alternator or PAS. It's diesel though so once it's started it doesn't use that much power.

I got one from ECP the other day, 6pk1130 didn't fit it though so no idea if it's right.

Just looked on service box, I think it depends on what size the pulley is on your PAS pump.
