RE: WIFE's 206 - stevieg - 14-11-2012 this is what i would do in this situation. first up look at the brakes then check the coolant and oil is cool then go out for some ragging to clear out the cat RE: WIFE's 206 - cully - 14-11-2012 been ragging it most of the day has improved a little i may be disecting the cat tomorrow if i can get it off coolant/oil has been normal all day car smells hot from the underside RE: WIFE's 206 - stevieg - 14-11-2012 hmm as long as its not plooming smoke on hard acceleration then i would say the cat's clear RE: WIFE's 206 - Eeyore - 14-11-2012 (14-11-2012, 08:30 PM)cully Wrote: my cars in having the cambelt done you and her went for a drive in her car and she wrecked it? D: RE: WIFE's 206 - cully - 14-11-2012 lol not quite i dont drive it very often but when you do you tend to pick up on faults ![]() RE: WIFE's 206 - Jonny81191 - 14-11-2012 does it have an undertray? could have a rabbit or something cooking under there ![]() RE: WIFE's 206 - cully - 15-11-2012 mmmm road kill will be checking in a bit ![]() RE: WIFE's 206 - cully - 15-11-2012 now i know why i hate working on cars! just had to disc cut the drop link off both arb and strut ends and ive only started on the one side brakes arnt working on one side of the disc all the guides and slides are solid so new droplinks and discs and pads RE: WIFE's 206 - C2K - 15-11-2012 So you've done no maintenance on this thing before then? Worst sliders I ever saw were my neighbours Focus which had full ford service history. His discs stayed rusty, the cause being the fact the sliders were solid with rust flakes, literally. RE: WIFE's 206 - cully - 15-11-2012 nope never had the wheels off had the car for year and a half have done the fluids and filters though at service time car drives like new again now, with new brakes and links and its got its go back so the brakes must have been dragging too £64.94 not bad for that lot RE: WIFE's 206 - bigcheez2k3 - 15-11-2012 Don't forget the brownie points from the wife ![]() RE: WIFE's 206 - cully - 15-11-2012 you mean GIgidy points ![]() RE: WIFE's 206 - stevieg - 15-11-2012 my favorite method of getting droplink bolts off is to gun them on more till the bolt snaps off. good tip there for those with an impact gun RE: WIFE's 206 - Jonny81191 - 15-11-2012 (15-11-2012, 06:40 PM)stevieg Wrote: my favorite method of getting droplink bolts off is to gun them on more till the bolt snaps off. good tip there for those with an impact gun Nice idea, will try it at some point! RE: WIFE's 206 - cully - 15-11-2012 air gun wouldn't touch these just spun the bolts it didnt argue with the disc cutter for long ![]() RE: WIFE's 206 - C2K - 19-11-2012 (15-11-2012, 04:49 PM)cully Wrote: nope never had the wheels off had the car for year and a half Jeez i'm more meticulous with the other half's car than i am with my own. ![]() RE: WIFE's 206 - HDIkyle - 19-11-2012 I'm like that but that's because if I break it its not me without a car Lol |
