Upholstery cleaner - Niall - 01-11-2012

Right guys. my new work car has been ordered meaning my skoda is going back in about two weeks. The seats in it are absolutely filthy where i leave crap on them and most of my lunch! Needs a bloody good clean up otherwise the wankers will try charging me so whats the best way of cleaning it? Ive tried a damp sponge and some foam upholstery cleaner but it was shite and didnt really do much. Any suggestions?

Get the missus to do it? Nothing shifts dirt like a woman Wink

Dont happen to have one in your vast array of borrowed tools from work?

RE: Upholstery cleaner - 306carter - 01-11-2012

Rent a wet vac. Normally around £15 a day. Or pay a valeter to wet vac it about £35.

RE: Upholstery cleaner - Toms306 - 01-11-2012

I'm gonna wet vac the 'state before I give it back to Sam, either need to find one I can borrow or rent!

On seats that aren't too bad I use this stuff from ASDA, has like a plasticbrsh on top, the brush is crap but the foam itself is pretty good! If yours are bad though, probably better to wet vac them!

RE: Upholstery cleaner - daddyfixit - 01-11-2012

vax carpet cleaner-----little round orange/black ones; get some carpet cleaner from asda or somewhere, mix with 5 litres of hot water and get going.

i do the galaxy seats a few times as the kids/mates/our dog like to tread in as much crap as they can !!!!!

vax is a winner every time.

RE: Upholstery cleaner - Niall - 01-11-2012

hmm need to find someone with a vax then! and then get some seat covers i think

RE: Upholstery cleaner - 306Dan - 01-11-2012

go find a polish carwash theyll normally do it for £5 a seat up here and take a seat cover so you dont get a wet arse

Upholstery cleaner - ash240970 - 02-11-2012

Personally, think you're going to need a steam cleaner as i don't think a Vax will get crayon out of the upholstery Big Grin Big Grin

RE: Upholstery cleaner - Jonny81191 - 02-11-2012

lmao repped!

RE: Upholstery cleaner - Matt - 02-11-2012

P60? Wet sand? Tongue

RE: Upholstery cleaner - Niall - 02-11-2012

Think I'm going to take a trip to halfords and see what the strongest shit is they have. Also need some dash cleaner seeing as there's yogurt everywhere after one of my colleagues thought it would be a good idea to open one with his teeth whilst driving my car.....on the motorway at 80!

RE: Upholstery cleaner - lolsteve - 02-11-2012

Rug doctor, it's the steam cleaner thing they have in morrisons/range/some asda etc

RE: Upholstery cleaner - daddyfixit - 02-11-2012

you can buy the concentrated cleaning liquid, theres one the motor factors up here sell called "strike", you mix about 1;10 ratio with hot water and then use a vax-type carpet cleaner. or use a hand sprayer to spray it on stains/scrub with a nail brush/ wipe off with a sponge....

but the vax carpet cleaner is the easiest way---if you use some carpet cleaning concentrate.

RE: Upholstery cleaner - Niall - 02-11-2012

well i went to halfords today and bought some mer interior foam. Epic stuff! Sparayed it on the seats, used a upholstery brush (basically a big nail brush) and they have come up like new. Also did the floor mats in the 6 and they look brand new now!

RE: Upholstery cleaner - samass - 02-11-2012

Might try that in the ovlov....

RE: Upholstery cleaner - Niall - 02-11-2012
