Project Booty - Harry - 04-01-2012

Right, some of you might know me from other places, but my Name is Harry, im 17, and i own a 1.4 Sedan.

I bought the car back in June for £750, its a 1997 but was imported into england in 1999, currently has 67,000 on the clock ... And here is some of the work i have done on it so far.

As i bought it ....

I have previously had 2 other pugs

Fitted Angels ...

Alloys:

Then bought a spoiler, still havent got round to spraying and fitting it yet

Wind deflectors:

Then had a little meet up with annother 306 owner, and noticed just how high my car is lol

Then sprayed my alloys:

Then has a little photo shoot on portsdown hill

Then noticed some gungy stuff in my airbox and my breather pipes aswell as oil in the bottom of the airbox ...

So i replaced it with a pod filter

Sprayed my badge black ...

Then went to trax ....

Then i was the target of some pikeys ... as i was driving to the garage at 1:00AM, i got a load of plant pots pelted at my car ..

Most of that buffed out with some t-cut tho

Then bought some new side repaters

Also found some wires has cought fire under the dash ... so replaced them

A few days later i was driving down the A3, and my backbox fell of xD

So had to get that weled up as a temp fix.

Fitted some subs Big Grin

Notced my tires were rubbing on the arch liner ... so iv had to go back to steelies untill i can afford some spacers

Fitted some of those xenon bulb jobbies

One morning i woke up and noticed how awefull the side repeaters were, so i went back to standard ... neally

And then tinted my rear lights ... however i think i may have gone abit to dark lol

Then i got some Ph3 lights Big Grin

Holy shit thats more of a monster truck that mine was lol hurry up and drop it and get those airanes back on!

Re: Project Booty - Foxy-jim - 05-01-2012

Alright mate! As always, car is looking good, you need to deck it soon!!! Haha.

Re: Project Booty - Scott - 05-01-2012

This will look awesome with the ph3 front bumper and a decent drop! Will you spray the side strips and rear rub strip on the bumper to match the ph3 front since you're smoothing the bumpers?

Re: Project Booty - Curt - 05-01-2012

I like these, my first car was a sedan Big Grin. Agree with the others, some slammage and it'll be very much win.

Re: Project Booty - mark_airey - 05-01-2012

Why does everyone hate ph2's so much?? lol

I like it, just needs more lows and the alloys back on Smile

oh and get the spoiler painted and fitted! Tongue

Re: Project Booty - Jacko - 05-01-2012

Because the front bumper looks like Fugly Fish!

Thats why i've 2.5'd my phase

Foxy-jim Wrote:Alright mate! As always, car is looking good, you need to deck it soon!!! Haha.
i swear you are eveywhere! any forum i come into Tongue

Thanks guys ... i will be colour codeing it aswell yeah ... i dunno, i just ... well ... not hate ... but prefure the ph3 look

Coilys and wheel spacers will be on next pay day ...

im hopeing to go 110mm front and 100mm rear on a gti6 rear beam with spax rear shocks ...

Im geting hub centric spacers which bolt onto the hub with studs to put the wheels on ( 25mm)

Re: Project Booty - Foxy-jim - 06-01-2012

I have a set of 20mm hubcentric spacers in my garage with bolts? 20mm.

With you coilovers you will need to take the helper spring out to get it down 110mm or buy some shorter stiffer springs for them, which is what I'm doing!

Re: Project Booty - Jacko - 07-01-2012

Jim, would you sell me your helper springs when you've no use for them? Big Grin

Re: Project Booty - Foxy-jim - 07-01-2012

I'm keeping mine but buying shorter main springs!

Re: Project Booty - Harry - 08-01-2012

Thanks Jim, but im gunna buy these one ... as i dont trust the extend bolt type tbh ...

Right, fitted my HID's today ... so im just waiting for it to get dark now Tongue

They are 8000k ones ... and no ... they are not cheap ebay hids

Project Booty - kentiiboii - 08-01-2012

Re: Project Booty - Foxy-jim - 08-01-2012

I dont have the extended bolt type...

Re: Project Booty - Harry - 09-01-2012

Dont ya? What type are they? xD

Re: Project Booty - Harry - 12-01-2012

Betty is dead.

I was pulling away from a junction and the revs were climbing but my speed wasent ... while there was a horrid noise and massive vibations ....

So i tryed to limp home as carefully as possable, but it was no good, as soon as i tryed to put any power down ... the same thing happend ... untill i lost all drive ...

I had a feeling it was my driveshafts ... and i was right ....

Propper F**ked xD

And trying to find replacements for a 1997 1.4 ph2 which was imported in 99 ... is, well, BLEH

Altho i think i have found some ... and anyone can say if these will fit or not?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DRIVESHAFT-LH ... 20bee8c498

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DRIVESHAFT-RI ... 1c20f93570

Any help would be fantstic!

Thanks

Harry

Project Booty - Matt - 12-01-2012

Sure standard issue 1.4 driveshafts will fit, same engine, even if imported etc

Re: Project Booty - Foxy-jim - 12-01-2012

Ye surely past 2 ones will fit. As Matt said should be the same!

Re: Project Booty - Harry - 13-01-2012

Well i know there are 2 differnt types, 1 with 24 splines and one with 22

Re: Project Booty - Foxy-jim - 13-01-2012

Hmmm. Get down the scrappy and see what they have!

Re: Project Booty - Harry - 14-01-2012

Right, i made some good progress today ..

Got both shafts out so now just waiting on the new ones arriving Big Grin

Woke up this morning ... made a bacon and egg sarnie and a cuppa tea and got cracking
[Image: Image038.jpg]

Then found out that the 35mm socket i bought for the DTurbo's hub nut was too big, so had to go out and buy a 30mm one Sad
[Image: Image039.jpg]

Then had to go back to the shop and buy a new breaker bar

then had to go back AGAIN and buy a drain removal tool ... then i could get the oil out .... and grrrr do i hate gearbox oil Sad

its all good tho ... cos i got to use my shiney new cressent tool kit Big Grin

now just waiting on new ones

Then had to go

Re: Project Booty - Harry - 20-01-2012

So i now need to find a gearbox ... but will any 1.4 box fit or not?

Any help would be great Big Grin

Re: Project Booty - CaL - 20-01-2012

Re: Project Booty - Harry - 20-01-2012

CaL Wrote:'6 engine would make this amazing
i know Tongue ... i think in a year or so i might '6 it ... or DT ... not to sure yet

Re: Project Booty - Eeyore - 20-01-2012

with this... if the oil breather pipe isnt connected youd probably best be putting some more tights over the little elbow on the main aluminum pipe so that stuff doesnt get in that way.

ANyway like i said on pugnet get some lows. Hids look good but make sure they are aimed down low and yeh. looks good Big Grin

Have you still got the side indicators? I think they look alright tbf!

Re: Project Booty - Harry - 22-01-2012

I now have a bit of silicone pipe connecting those two together, like it was on the original airbox.

Lows are gunna have to wait for now ... not that i have just bought a new gearbox and getting it fitted lol

i no longer have then, sold them to a guy on pugnet

and the HIDS are ajusted correctly ... they light up the road amazingly and i have never been flashed once Smile

Thanks Smile

Project Booty - Matt - 22-01-2012

I bought the indicators Wink but they don't go with my scheme, I though they were darker lol, so prob gunna stick them on eBay haha
