I've managed to get my Pug down to my mate's garage to check the gas content of the AC system,,, yeah nothing in there!
We put a squeeze on the system and a very slight leak was heard coming from between the block and the radiator/AC condensor. It was hard to pin point as it was a tiny leak.
I was after any hints and tips for the usual problems either mechanically or electriacelly that are frequently seen on the system or components.

the condenser is quite common to go on them

nornmally the pipes that run between the block and rad corrode at the mounting brackets, that'd be my first port of call

I'd heard the same about the pipes and brackets from this forum through chit chat. My mate has also said that in his experience the most common area of failure for all cars is the condensor so thanks to you both.
Am intending to pull the system apart and individually pressure test each section but wanted to know where to focus my attention.
Are the electrics generally ok?
