306 GTi-6 - Phase 2 Diablo (1998) - Ash J - 09-10-2012 Up for sale is my beloved Peugeot 306 GTi-6. Absolutely love this car, best car I have owned, but due to the distance I travel to work, I am looking for something a bit more economical. If I could afford to then I’d keep her and get another car for my daily commute, but unfortunately I can’t afford to keep two cars on the road! Basic Info 1998 Phase 2 306 GTi-6 Diablo Red 88,000 miles (will increase slightly due to still being in use) Tax until March 2013 MOT until 2nd August 2013 (no advisories) Immobiliser and Alarm, Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors, Central Locking Engine & Gearbox 2.0 16v XU10J4RS No smoke or strange noises, pulls very strongly in all gears, good engine Magnex Stainless Steel Exhaust System Magnex De-Cat Pipercross Viper Carbon Fibre Enclosed Induction Kit Metal Gear Linkages Quick Shifter Very positive gear change with the above two modifications Clutch is light and progressive as it should be Was serviced by previous owner just before I bought it (around 3 months ago) with new plugs, genuine OE oil filter and quality oil Chassis Very solid, no knocks or rattles Lowered 40mm at the front on Springs Lowered about 60mm at the rear 16” Team Dynamics Monza RS’s in Matt Black (excellent, unmarked condition) 4 x 195/45/16 Toyo Proxes 4 Tyres (all with very good tread) New top mounts and drop links fitted by previous owner just before I bought it (around 3 months ago) New track rod arm fitted last week, along with tracking being done Bodywork Overall very straight with no rust Couple of marks on the bodywork when I bought it – dent in the driver’s side wing, and a couple of marks in the passenger side door Bonnet, hatch and rear bumper have some lacquer peel, seems to happen to Diablo 306s! Stone chips etc on front bumper as to be expected with lowered car Polishes up very well though, and few marks have never bothered me Regularly washed and polished Tinted windows all round Phase 3 Crystal Headlights and Fogs Phase 3 Rear Lights Interior & ICE Very clean overall Slight bolster wear on driver’s seat, though have seen worse and base is in tact Alpine Head Unit Front Pioneer Door Speakers MDF Stealth Parcel Shelf (ready for 6x9s) No rear speakers as I am taking my 6x9s out (they’re a bit special) Problems Can honestly say that I can’t think of anything wrong with the car really! Apart from the bodywork bits I mentioned above, and the driver’s seat bolster, everything works spot on and is all up together. Also, air conditioning does not work. One of the pipes at the front of the engine for the air conditioning has been completely removed at some point, along with the condenser. I planned on fitting a Rallye AUX setup in the future and doing away with the AC pump etc, but just never got round to it. Other Points Previous owner works at Lynx Power Engineering in Havant, Portsmouth, who specialise in making bespoke parts for 306s (billet pulleys, lightweight flywheels etc) so the car has been in good hands. New Bosch Aero wipers fitted to the front and rear last week. All electrics work fine – electric windows, electric mirrors, heater blower, central locking, and even rain sensitive wipers work perfectly. As anybody who knows me will tell you, I am a bit anal with keeping my cars clean! Always snow foam her, wash her a couple of times and rinse with pure water so it leaves no marks. Then polished and waxed to keep her protected. All products used are very expensive, and this is done quite regularly. Will certainly miss this car, but I’m sure once I’m driving round in something a bit more economical, and can put some money aside, I’ll be wanting another GTi-6 again, there’s just nothing like them for me! The car drives brilliantly and performs just as a GTi-6 should, its a joy to drive and puts a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel. I also have a set of good condition Cyclones that can be negotiated to go with the car. They are all fitted with a set of 195/50/15 Yokohama Neova AD08 tyres which are less than a week old. These are very expensive tyres, but only had them on a week as I then changed to the Team Dynamics wheels which are 16”, so I couldn’t swap the tyres over! These are phenomenal tyres (in both wet and dry) and I planned on keeping them to use if I decided to track the car, but no use to me now the car is going. The Cyclones and tyres will NOT be going with the car for the asking price below, but if the buyer wanted them then this could be negotiated for the right price. Would consider a deal with a standard 306 HDi or a Mk4 Golf TDi with cash either way depending on spec of the car etc. Price: £1500 ono Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire I work full time during the week, so viewing is more than welcome in evenings and on weekends. However, I am off work for a couple of weeks now due to having an operation last week, so will be free most days over the next week or so. Any questions or to arrange any viewings, please either email me on ashjames1990@googlemail.com or call on 07875 396600. Thanks for looking!
