Advice needed - cwspellowe - 29-08-2012 Fellas, need a bit of advice. The car's been picked to be in the Meguiar's Top 15 on PFC day at Knockhill, which is brilliant news. I need to do some major tidying up though. Here's my decisions I need to make, if you could take time to answer the questions i'd appreciate it. 1. Front bumper: Keep the cable tied repair or redo the whole thing? Bear in mind it's a daily driver, not a show car. Ghetto vs clean? 2. Ride height: Lower it at the show or keep it as it is? Can go down around another inch if I went static 3. Engine bay: What bits should I paint? Cam cover, touch up inlet mani, intercooler pipes in front bumper? 4. Bootlid: thinking of removing the rear badge. Thoughts? Any other bits people can suggest? The car isn't going to be immaculate but some bits really need tidied up. The cable ties imo add an element of "BecuaseDailyDriver" to it, a bit of character. Hmm... RE: Advice needed - declantg - 29-08-2012 Leave the cable ties IMO, the drifters seems to love it atm. and definitely smooth the boot, will set the rear off nicely ![]() RE: Advice needed - 4WayDiablo - 29-08-2012 Keep the ties Lower it at show Paint your bay bits you want If you have the time then yeah I reckon get rid of the badge And win it like a baws RE: Advice needed - Andy - 29-08-2012 (29-08-2012, 03:15 PM)4WayDiablo Wrote: Keep the ties I agree with everything this pushy douche says. You shitdick :-) RE: Advice needed - Andy - 29-08-2012 FYC. As I said... Douche RE: Advice needed - Curt - 29-08-2012 1. Cable ties. 2. Keep it as it is, if you're going with "it's a daily" then I'd stick with it. 3. Cam cover is always a good one, and general clean up. XUD's don't do pretty! 4. Always been a fan of smooth boots. Not sure on an the estate... I say go for it. RE: Advice needed - 4WayDiablo - 29-08-2012 Just seen the rear debadge pic on Facebook and it looks awesome! RE: Advice needed - cwspellowe - 29-08-2012 Then it's decided, cable ties are staying. Managed to get the boot done today, got a couple of runs in the clear though so need to wet sand it tomorrow and possibly another coat, which is annoying... RE: Advice needed - HDIkyle - 29-08-2012 Deffo remove badge I have smooth the badge and lock on mine looks much better Advice needed - ben87 - 29-08-2012 ![]() That is all...! RE: Advice needed - cwspellowe - 30-08-2012 Yes Ben but that's a hatchback ![]() RE: Advice needed - Birk - 30-08-2012 See my sig for my smooth boot, its a bit marmite. RE: Advice needed - cwspellowe - 30-08-2012 See what you mean mate, it kinda works but it's too much for my liking tbh RE: Advice needed - Toms306 - 30-08-2012 Hmmm.....No offence Birk....but I don't like the smooth boot on the estate tbh, keep the badge Chris. ![]() RE: Advice needed - Birk - 30-08-2012 Non taken mate. Im not overly keen on it tbh, i think i prefer the standard boot with smoothed badge and lock, but i cant be arsed to smooth and paint my old one lol RE: Advice needed - procta - 30-08-2012 when will you be at knockhill? RE: Advice needed - cwspellowe - 30-08-2012 16th September mate, PFC are doing a French car day up there ![]() RE: Advice needed - procta - 30-08-2012 (30-08-2012, 07:58 PM)cwspellowe Wrote: 16th September mate, PFC are doing a French car day up there ah f*ck, i was expecting it to be later on in the year, id have asked to other lads from the northeast to pop up with me and we could have had a mini meet afterwards. |
