soo basically who ever had my car before me whacked the max fuel right up and its causing ALOT of smoke! was just wondering how durable the caps are to turn it down as it doesnt look to good and dont want to risk cracking ect, anyone know if it will crack or if i can get a metal one form anywhere? any advice or help would be great thanks

It should come off easy, just tap the edge of it round with screw driver

You can find the metal fuel caps on ford escort vans in the scrapers...

Any 1.8TD Ford should have a Lucas with a metal cap, Escort, Mondeo mk1 or mk2, Fiesta, late Sierra, P100, think that's it...

The 1.8 NAs have it too... So nigh on any Escort van - pretty much most eighties and ninties Ford diesel will have one!

If there's not at least one in your local scrappers, there's something wrong!

1.8TD 205's do as well I think.... mine look to be metal...
