For those of you into riding... - Niall - 05-08-2012

So after a chat with some of the guys at ace day yesterday, it turns out a lot of people are into riding on this forum so we thought why not arrange a meet? Date in mind was 15th September.

Was thinking of going to chicksands. It's a great day out and cheap

Have a look around their site. There is a massive range of things to do there from the 4X and dual course to XC trails to north shore. Experience really doesn't matter as it is varied for beginners through to pros/nutters.

£5 for the whole day paid cash on arrival. Full face helmet, gloves and shin guards are the minimum iirc. You do also have to have a safe bike. If any of the staff see anything dodgy with your bike, they will kick you out!

So who's up for it?
1) Niall

I haven't got the exact address but it's up Near Bedford. Was also thinking about finding a campsite for the night near by for a few lols, BBQ and beer.

I'll be game providing I have my bike Smile and a full five helmet Smile

Re: For those of you into riding... - Dan! - 05-08-2012

Careful of the second jump on the mid set lol Blush and btw I don't think gloves are essential and full face helmets aren't either, just a normal helmet. If Jake and Ben are up for coming to this then I will probably tag along with the camera...

Fair play. Last time I went it was full face unless you were on the XC trails....but this was 5-6 years ago now!
Dan sure you don't want to bring the bike? Haha

RE: For those of you into riding... - Poodle - 06-08-2012

Dammit, sold my full face and pads a couple of years ago... Sad That buggers this up slightly for me, i don't even have a basic helmet any more, let alone anything else in the way of protective gear.

RE: For those of you into riding... - Niall - 06-08-2012

Poodle I will more than likely wear my full facer all day. I've got a normal helmet in the shed that's 5 years old but it was never worn. Bought it and it just sat in the box! Your more than welcome to borrow that and my old gloves.

RE: For those of you into riding... - Matt - 06-08-2012

What classifys a helmet as a normal helmet? As at my dads I still have a few to choose from

RE: For those of you into riding... - Niall - 06-08-2012

Matt by the sounds of things, now as long as you have a helmet of any sort (to protect your head....wacking your cock out will probably not get you very far)your ok

RE: For those of you into riding... - Matt - 06-08-2012

Ahhh cool, I'll see if I can borrow my step sisters barbie one

RE: For those of you into riding... - Poodle - 07-08-2012

Argh ffs, just checked the calendar and seen it's a close mates wedding that day. Rolleyes Thanks for the offer dude, it seems life doesn't want me to make it to this lol.

RE: For those of you into riding... - Grant - 08-08-2012

Count me in. I'll be taking the van too, so if anyone wants bikes/equipment taking, just holla.

1. Niall
2. Grant

For those of you into riding... - Jake - 13-08-2012

RE: For those of you into riding... - Niall - 13-08-2012

RE: For those of you into riding... - Scott - 13-08-2012

Will need to get one of the bikes up to scratch beforehand, but I'm up for this!

RE: For those of you into riding... - Niall - 13-08-2012

Scott you camping as well? Found a site near by which is £4.50 a night. Win!

RE: For those of you into riding... - Scott - 13-08-2012

I'm game.

I thought you guys were giving me a lift anyway, and f*ck cycling back lol

RE: For those of you into riding... - Niall - 13-08-2012

Yeah you can hop in with me providing I can borrow grants old mans bike rack

RE: For those of you into riding... - Scott - 13-08-2012

You've got a towbar right? I need to buy the adapter again but I've got a bike rack we can use. Holds 4 bikes comfortably and won't damage the paint Smile

For those of you into riding... - Jake - 13-08-2012

If I do go then yeah I might camp, depends if there's showers lol

RE: For those of you into riding... - Niall - 13-08-2012

Sure there is. That's then 2 days of epic riding and an epic evening!

For those of you into riding... - Jake - 13-08-2012

Will have to check with work but I'm well up for that.
