Need help with a broke tv lol - Tom - 19-07-2012

I just bought this 56" sagem flat screen dirt cheap! Its rear projection which im not a fan of but its huuuuge! Bu it turns off after half hour.. Any thoughts? Im hoping thermal cut out? Or something simple lol Discuss.... Wheres cully when you need him!

Sounds like it could well be the flux capacitor, they aren't that expensive & its a pretty simple job if you're confident enough to change it yourself!

probably a thermal cut out. Its probably quite old so id be blowing any dust out with an aerosol!

I opened it up and it was full of dust,looks like a sheep died inside it was well bad! Cleaned it all out and even used spray contact cleaner and its been on for half an hour and its still on touch wood.... Best tv repair ever Big Grin

pwer supply at fault; will end up being a couple of quid transister thats going tits up as it gets warm.

p.s whats the weather down in cornwall ??? going there in a few weeks so get rid of any floods will you ?
