The rallye broke its belt and now have to rebuild it

water pump QH
head gasket i would go to pug
head bolts local motor factors
Ive just paid £195.08 for gates cam belt kit, QH water pump, and rallye aux setup
Edit: i have a spare head that just requires a skim if any use to you

Belt kit - contitech or gates
W/pump - QH, pug
HG - Corteco make the original pug ones and they are about £15 from gsf. Pug want £45.50 for a HG.
Head bolts - FAI are alright or they are 7.50 each from pug and you need 10.

gsf do contitech, thats where i got mine from. for the cambelt yeah?
also, skf are the kings of bearings, so that shouldnt be a bad one

Bit unrelated but has anyone noticed how much ECP's oil prices have gone up? Bought 5L of tripleqx from them just before FCS and it was £22 now it's 35!

As for someone who works at the uk's largest aftermarket partssupplier I'll Stick My 2penith worth in...
Head gasket...Payen (No we dont stock them so not supporting my work )
Cambelt kit..Skf ... Skf bearings are the best you can get, the belts are important as well,the best have a red or yellow stripe on the edge which contain kelver,this gives the belt its strength
Water Pump..Qh. NO... Firstline everytime
Bolts ... again payen

agreed with the head gasket, belt as well (although continental also use skf bearings so ive always used them). waterpump however whats wrong with QH considering the original part is made by QH?

skf kits are very good, just fitted a full kit+ aux tensioner on my galaxy tdi before the cornwall expedition and got it from ecp. waterpump was oe spec, only the vw part number was missing .
