Re: TU petrol engines - Matt - 05-12-2011

Re: TU petrol engines - Poodle - 06-12-2011

I quite like the engine on the cabby actually, I have no idea if that's a TU or not before anyone shouts at me. It's a petrol, why would i care? Tongue

Re: TU petrol engines - Matt - 06-12-2011

Asaik it's just 1.4 and 1.6 that are tu. the cabby will be xu

Re: TU petrol engines - Poodle - 06-12-2011

Well there you go, i've learnt something today.

In which case, TU = shit.

Re: TU petrol engines - Matt - 06-12-2011

Re: TU petrol engines - Niall - 06-12-2011

They did do the cab with the 1.8 as well

Re: TU petrol engines - Matt - 06-12-2011

Re: TU petrol engines - stevieg - 06-12-2011

stevieg Wrote:...have a shit oil filter design in later models

So do the XU's though in all fairness.

Re: TU petrol engines - Ruan - 06-12-2011

I know, let's put the oil filter on the front of the block....

Then tilt it 35*...

So all the oil invariably ends up pissing all down the front of the block as you undo the filter.

Yeah, great f*cking idea.

Re: TU petrol engines - Niall - 06-12-2011

And then put a air con pump, radiator hose and power steering hoses in the way. Great idea frenchies!

I'm a massive gay!

Your so right Tongue

Re: TU petrol engines - cpikey316_ - 10-12-2011

You can get a 1.6 cabriolet too.

But seriously, the one good thing about my old XRDT was the easy to undo oil filter.

The saab one aint too bad.

the 1.8 is a real pig, no room to get my big screwdriver in there! :p

TU petrol engines - Dan - 10-12-2011

Haha lol u got me Wink

Re: TU petrol engines - Matt - 10-12-2011

Wink lol

Re: TU petrol engines - Seb_Ryan - 10-12-2011

Mum n dad gotta 1.4 xsara thing, completely wank, can go faster in 4th gear than 5th..

Re: TU petrol engines - Craig-o - 10-12-2011

I actually don't mind mind the TU lumps....pretty frugal....just what you have to keep in mind is that they're not built for speed but for round town. Retern decent mpg and are nippy enough for town traffic! Although the HG's are made of cheese

Re: TU petrol engines - Scott - 11-12-2011

Doh!

TU petrol engines - THE_Liam - 11-12-2011

The 16 valve TU in the 106 GTI is awesome, great on fuel, revvy, and an absolute monster over 4k Big Grin

Would be no good in a 306 though because of the weight...

Re: TU petrol engines - Foxy-jim - 12-12-2011

TU engines are awesome! Im not going to leave them anytime soon!

TU FTMFW!!!

Re: TU petrol engines - Matt - 12-12-2011

to be fair my 1.6 wasnt actually that bad, just chewed up the gearbox, almost burnt out the head had £1700 spent on it in a year but wasnt that bad Tongue

Re: TU petrol engines - Foxy-jim - 12-12-2011

Haha. Fair enough! Going to put a 1.6 TU in mine! Haha. Sticking by it!

Re: TU petrol engines - Matt - 12-12-2011
