Would it be possible to have the 5th gear from an HDI box in an XUD box? I don't have a spare one to poke around otherwise I would.

Hdi box has longer ratios so doesn't keep you on boost so much though

Which is why I want an xud box with hdi 5th. I want an xud box for when I'm going through the gears but then a lower rpm when at a steady speed.

How about the final drive from an XUD fitted to a '6 box instead?

HDI and DT box are the same bar the final drive giving the longer ratios throughout the box.
And FYI the 6 box has a longer final drive than both the HDI and DT IIRC, if not its not much shorter as the hdi and the 6 are around the 3.8 region IIRC.

Beat me to it. The 205 DTURBO box, 306 dt and HDI have the same gears just a different final drive.
If you want short is gears get a '6 box and some 20" rims
