XUD running rough and grey smoke. possible Hydro - HDIkyle - 09-07-2012 Looking at a R reg Diesel. Not sure if its Turbo or NAD but it shows u as a 1905cc. It was driven though a dee ford and stopped. They have been told it was just a wet sensor ect but he said he had to change the filter so I'm betting its sucked up some water, however it stull drives and runs fine but....after about 60 miles it starts throwing out grey smoke(the guy said its def not blue ect) and running rough. What's peoples thoughts XUD running rough and grey smoke. possible Hydro - Parksy87 - 09-07-2012 1.9's dont really have sensors so would of thought thats garbage, bent a valve slightly? But only causing problems when its warmed up? RE: XUD running rough and grey smoke. possible Hydro - Dave - 09-07-2012 If it runs, revs, drives, sounds fine, with no smoke, no coolant pressurise or oil loss , or moisture out the back no funny knocks then its fine. If its buggered your engine then it wouldn't be time dependant like what happens after 60 miles, that must be something else. It could potentially have nailed a rod and bent it slightly, but in my experience this causes no noticeable effects, the best thing to do if you're really concerned about that is whip the sump off and have a look at them, it will be clear if any of them are bent. Also depends how they were driving it through the ford, if they are at 4k it wouldn't have done it any favours... but if they were just ticking over through it, it would just stop the motor, and require a flush. RE: XUD running rough and grey smoke. possible Hydro - HDIkyle - 09-07-2012 Ye I know its not sensor related so it has to be something like water in cylinders RE: XUD running rough and grey smoke. possible Hydro - HDIkyle - 09-07-2012 Its a womans car so I assume only driven easy said it still pull trailers very well. My only real concern is I will ne running fmic 11mm and bigger turbo but I do have an hdi atm so I have parts if I need them |
