RE: Recommend pistion skim - Dan! - 08-07-2012 0.5mm Recommend pistion skim - Jonny b - 08-07-2012 What are you doing exactly? RE: Recommend pistion skim - Daniel306 - 08-07-2012 Hdi rods and Td04 turbo, just wanting to run a fairly low compression RE: Recommend pistion skim - darrenjlobb - 08-07-2012 Meh wouldnt take anymore than 0.5 off a stock motor if you still want to be able to drive it day to day and start it in the winter... Tbh as ive said before, if I was doing it again, id leave the compression totally stock, I dont wreckon my old 213hp hdi rodded engine would have let go if i didnt bend a rod from hydro'ing it.... RE: Recommend pistion skim - Daniel306 - 08-07-2012 And the 213 was running standard compression? other thing is what do piston rings and rebuild kits cost and where do you get your head gaskets from? RE: Recommend pistion skim - darrenjlobb - 08-07-2012 Nah it was running a .5 decomp, but personally I think it would have held in there without it,and been much easier to drive etc. RE: Recommend pistion skim - CJ_Derv - 09-07-2012 (08-07-2012, 09:49 PM)darrenjlobb Wrote: Nah it was running a .5 decomp, but personally I think it would have held in there without it,and been much easier to drive etc. Just out of curiosity Darren what thickness gasket where you running with this .5 decomp ![]() Cheers |
