Snapped Oil Pressure Sensor in block - HDIkyle - 04-07-2012 On out lasses 1.4 106 i removed the Oil pressure sensor (blue plug under the coilpack) in the process of trying to find a bad oil leak. Upon refitting he piece of shit has snapped clean off in the block so i am now left with a useless blue plug. How can i remove this and is it ok to drive without been plugged in? Thanks Just took it for a quick drive and there does not appear to be any oil coming from there but is it likely to start pissing out on a longer journey or will it be to use as normal? RE: Snapped Oil Pressure Sensor in block - Niall - 04-07-2012 It will be ok to drive but just remember there will be no warning of drop of pressure so be vigilant. You could try cutting a small cut in the end of the bit that's snapped and use a flat head screwdriver to get it out. RE: Snapped Oil Pressure Sensor in block - HDIkyle - 04-07-2012 Should be ok as she checks the oil everyday due to the leak. Aslong as its not going to start pouring out of the hole. Its snapped inside the hole 2ish threads from the plug end so there's nothing sticking roud to grip or groove into RE: Snapped Oil Pressure Sensor in block - spike2002 - 04-07-2012 Locktite a self tapping screw in to it let it hardern over nite then undo the next day ![]() I am asuming its a full plastic sensor ![]() Snapped Oil Pressure Sensor in block - ash240970 - 04-07-2012 Weld a bolt onto it then undo - simples RE: Snapped Oil Pressure Sensor in block - mark_airey - 04-07-2012 drill hole and use a screw extractor ![]() RE: Snapped Oil Pressure Sensor in block - HDIkyle - 05-07-2012 Its a metal sensor but made of french cheese like most peugeot parts RE: Snapped Oil Pressure Sensor in block - mark_airey - 05-07-2012 (05-07-2012, 05:34 AM)HDIkyle Wrote: Its a metal sensor but made of french cheese like most peugeot parts I still think these would work - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5PCE-SCREW-EXTRACTOR-Broken-Stud-Bolt-Remover-BRAND-NEW-/200775725445?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2ebf2a7185#ht_1514wt_932 especially if it has snapped along the thread and there is no mating face left then there should be no pressure on it so it should wind out easily ![]() |
