Bearing pullers - Grant - 24-06-2012 For wheel bearings. Who has experience with what? Don't want to get a cheap eBay jobby that will implode on itself rather than pull the bearing haha. Don't want to spend masses, otherwise I can get them pressed, just handy tool to have if cheap enough. RE: Bearing pullers - Niall - 24-06-2012 I've got one.... RE: Bearing pullers - darrenjlobb - 24-06-2012 Which bearings are you trying to pull? You will want press for most of them... Unless we arnt talking about cars / 306's... As for bearing pullers...if you want to use it more than once, any kit less than a few hundred is generally a load of poop....might get you out the crap once, but thats normally about it before they end up as a pile of cheese! RE: Bearing pullers - Grant - 25-06-2012 Since when Niall?!? Wish I had known this sooner lol And wheel bearings and lower engine mount Darren. You reckon it's worth getting it done then? RE: Bearing pullers - Niall - 25-06-2012 I've got one up in the loft. Just never had a use for it! RE: Bearing pullers - darrenjlobb - 25-06-2012 Which wheel beaings? What car? RE: Bearing pullers - Grant - 25-06-2012 Front wheel bearings, 306. Lower engine mount, 306, xu7jp4 although i think most of them are similar? RE: Bearing pullers - Ruan - 25-06-2012 Both need a press... You can't pull wheel bearings... And you'll need to cut the old bearing out and then press in the new one tbh. RE: Bearing pullers - sweeney1987 - 29-06-2012 on the subject what about bearing pullers for removing torsion bars for lowerage. Are cheapy ones not worth the hassle? RE: Bearing pullers - samass - 29-06-2012 (29-06-2012, 12:12 AM)sweeney1987 Wrote: on the subject what about bearing pullers for removing torsion bars for lowerage. wouldnt work, nothing for them to grab hold of. M8 threaded bar, through a hench washer, through a BFO socket, then a nut to wind on, gently pulling them out. RE: Bearing pullers - Jake - 29-06-2012 For removing mounts.. Fire & a hacksaw, FTW Cant really help you on putting a new one in. RE: Bearing pullers - Toms306 - 29-06-2012 I just got the local garage to press mine out/in for a fiver............wasn't worth the hassle or cost of buying a press imo. |
