306 Driveshafts - Bananalad - 19-06-2012

Im looking for a passenger side drive shaft for my phase 1 dturbo, is there differences in the other phases/models? Thanks

RE: 306 Driveshafts - Bananalad - 19-06-2012

I need an answer as fast as possible as i want to buy one today Smile Sorry for the quick bump!

RE: 306 Driveshafts - samass - 19-06-2012

should be the same as all XU engined cars. (1.8, 2.0 xsi, 2.0 gti, 1.9d, 1.9DT)

RE: 306 Driveshafts - Bananalad - 19-06-2012

Rang a scrappy and he told me there is a different amount of splines between phase one and phase 2? Is this true?

RE: 306 Driveshafts - samass - 19-06-2012

that, i couldn't tell you. but i didn't think there was as all the gearboxes are interchangeable, i think.

RE: 306 Driveshafts - Bananalad - 19-06-2012

Thats a good point actually.. You dont need to change drive shafts when putting on a hdi box so they have to be the same........ Anyone confirm this Tongue

all xu are same fitment. has your car abs though?

need one of an abs car if you do iirc

RE: 306 Driveshafts - samass - 19-06-2012

could always get a lift to the scrappy, and take your old one with you. then just compare them

RE: 306 Driveshafts - Bananalad - 19-06-2012

No dont think it has abs.. Ill check now Smile Ill do that samass Smile

RE: 306 Driveshafts - mark_airey - 19-06-2012

Only difference I know of is the ABS sensor ring being present or not!

RE: 306 Driveshafts - sweeney1987 - 19-06-2012

short shaft youre looking for?
id say i have one off an abs xsara here if youre stuck

infact think i have a few different ones in the shed but i cant currently get in it :/

RE: 306 Driveshafts - samass - 19-06-2012

ah yeah, good point sweeny, abs! easy to check, just look for a pumpy looking thing with lots of brake lines going into it at the front of the passenger side chassis leg in the engine bay, behind the headlight

RE: 306 Driveshafts - Bananalad - 19-06-2012

Thanks sweeney i was only up your way yesterday too for the rally lol Think i have one sorted.. If i put a non abs shaft into one with abs what would happen? Just not click into place?

Nope no abs Smile
