RE: Cossack - Seid' - 23-12-2012

what is your backbox?

RE: Cossack - Ed Doe - 23-12-2012

Looks like a magnex from here?

You should be able to advance the cam timing which should improve pick up and top end a bit Smile

But not advisable unless you really know what your doing! Mind you, everyone says these engines run very close....I was timing up a mates rallye and asked him to pin up the cams. exhaust was fine, inlet he didnt pin it in the locating hole, just against the outside of the casting. Was a good 15 degrees out and it run like utter dog shit but didnt bend anything! Moral of the story, dont ask people who know nothing about cars to help you time an engine!

RE: Cossack - Dicky - 30-01-2013

I'd swap my mrs for this, without even a second thought.

RE: Cossack - thethorne - 30-01-2013

Makes me think about putting mine back on cyclones

RE: Cossack - stuwee - 25-01-2014

Small update.

Been off the road since march of last year done a few bits in that time, but going to have a real drive and get her sorted and back on the road for the summer.

Right this is what i have done so far:

Got her in to the workshop late last summer to fit my yellow fogs, early phase one air horn and sort the front brakes.

After realising that i need to source new arch liners, i refitted the front bumper and put the pro race 1 whhels that i had laying around to see how it looked.

Not sure on the wheels tbh, got some 205 speedlines in dark grey which im thinking about putting on,feel free to give an opinion.

And that is how she stayed until today.

I knew they was a bit of surface rust where some dimlo had jacked it up on the floor, and ripped all the sealer on the floor, so i started to clean the area up ready for new seem sealer and paint. (poor Pic)

I also swapped the front springs over from 30mm eibach to 40mm P.I springs
(i might regret this is due to the handling)

More updates in the next few weeks.

RE: Cossack - Tom - 05-02-2014

Boner

RE: Cossack - stuwee - 04-09-2014

Not much has happened in the last 6 months. went through its mot, taxed it and ragged it to be fair.

Put some 205 speedlines on the car as the team alloys were rubbing on the back when you going round a fast bend and also took the piper exhaust system off and put a jetex system on as it much quieter and refined.

Tail pipe suits it too.

Here are some pics from Pugfest.

Runs very well and cannot really fault it in any department which is rare for a 306.

Runs out of tax at the end of this month so hopefully i can spend the next few months painting the engine bay and fitting a lightened flywheel. Also sold my other 6 and i am debating to putting that money into a respray of the car as it has a few nigglely cosmetics.

RE: Cossack - Orta - 04-09-2014

Tidy looking motor mate. Nice to see it come on over the years.

Speed lines every time on a phase 1 for me. Even over 'clones

RE: Cossack - stuwee - 04-09-2014

Yes, the car hibernates in the winter and comes out for the summer, from where it was when i bought it to where it is now is an achievement i suppose.

Yes i agree on the speedlines, i have a set on matt black cyclones that might go on next year though.

RE: Cossack - dashmader - 05-09-2014

Car looks superb...

RE: Cossack - stuwee - 06-09-2014

Cossack - Alee83 - 06-09-2014

Will be nice to see it with a full respray..!! Will come check it out if you're at Pugfest next year... Smile
