Hi Guys, new member so thought i'd say Hi! Acquired a nice GTI6 a couple of weeks ago after an affair with a 300bhp classic impreza, which nearly bankrupt me! So thought i'd scratch the french hot hatch itch.
Will probably start a readers ride thread as have some plans for her, already stripped the interior and given it a thorough clean to as new condition inside, good detail on the exterior has brought the china blue up lovely! De-wiper, pressed plates and flat wipers have been sorted already as musts imo! Will be lowering it 40mm with bilsteins, just sourced a very good condition 3" magnex, re-furb the wheels in a slightly brighter silver to go away from everyone doing them grey! Loving the experience so far, just need to sort the horrid stepped feeling of the clutch in traffic when its warm, clutch fork bushes? and the intermitent stalling in traffic or coming to a stop, idle control valve? Anyways hope to become involved in the forum so see you on the flip side!

Any pics of the Scooby and the 6 then?
There are lots of nice helpful people on here who will be able to help you out, it runs on the wrong fuel for me to be any help sorry

Haha happens so often! I will have pics of both up soon, hopefully will have the majority of what i want to do to the 6 in the next few weeks! Anyone on here from south wales? And more importanly know of a local specialist to help fix the little problems it has!

steppy clutch could either be cable or bushes, try a bit of wd40 on the clutch lever on the box and work it in, see if that does anything to help
stalling could be the icv... whip it off and clean it up with some carb cleaner, clean in the inlet too, get all the greasy shite out. disconnect the battery while you do it so it can reset it.
stick up a thread in the xu section and then more of us petrol heads can get our heads together
