Oil pump chain tension - DeeTurbo - 10-06-2017 Hi, I've noticed there is more slack then I thought there would be on the chain to the oil pump. Is there a auto tensioner on these engines or is the slack normal? RE: Oil pump chain tension - Poodle - 13-06-2017 Fairly normal for there to be some slack, although i expect 340k of wear has got something to do with it. So long as you can't make it slip a tooth it'll be fine. RE: Oil pump chain tension - welshpug - 13-06-2017 check the tooth wear, theres no tensioner but there is a shim under the pump. only one size though. RE: Oil pump chain tension - DeeTurbo - 13-06-2017 Nice one, thanks guys. I did check the sprocket for wear and it looks good. Chain is a little loose on it but no where near slipping off or teeth. I should have videoed the movement of the chain for your opinion but it sounds fine. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk |
