Which clutch for 97 DTurbo - heyitsroth - 24-04-2017 Need a new clutch for my 97 1.9 DTurbo - any recommendations? I've read that stock Valeo would be a good bet- Amazon and Valeo's website say the model is 801416.  Is that a good price?  The motor factors give 3000855401 which they say is Valeo, but it's a Sachs part number - are they sharing parts or something? There's also this Valeo classic range, for cars 10 years old or more - anyone have any experience with those?  Sounds like its a bit cheaper for less durability, the idea being your car won't last that much longer anyway  Finally are there any parts that I'll need that aren't in the kit?  Should the clutch cable be changed while it's out? Thanks! Which clutch for 97 DTurbo - bashbarnard - 25-04-2017 Yeah they clutch looks tight it sayd dt. Just double check some other part numbers it lists as well and you should be fine. Never heard of valeo classic before. Id definitly dondrive shaft seals while the box is out and change the oil for genuine pug stuff. The cluthh cable i would leave if its in good condition if not replace. Or on GSF they have "diff seals" right and left? I have gearbox oil, but it's been sat in the garage for about 6 years - it doesn't go off does it? Also, the cambelt was done about 25k ago, but that was also about 11 years ago - does the amount of time mean it should be replaced? I dont think the oil can go off to be honest. As for the cam belt you will want to get that changed due to the length of time that it hasn't be changed for. Think they are due every 5 or 6 years. RE: Which clutch for 97 DTurbo - heyitsroth - 26-04-2017 Yeh that's the yearly interval people seem to give for the timing belt.  I'll make a separate thread on here to ask though, just to be sure, since I can't find anything in the manual about it. Sorry to keep asking questions, but I just want to make sure I buy the right stuff: am I right in thinking the two seals that have been mentioned in this thread are marked 9 and 10 on this diagram?   Or is one of them marked 6 on this diagram?
