106 immobiliser (probably) problem. - pdg - 19-10-2016 My mum's 106... Occasionally, it won't start. It'll turn over fine, but not attempt to fire. Leave it for a minute and it'll start. Most of the time it just starts on the button and the failure to start isn't reproducible. It's got the inductive immobiliser, not a keypad type - the symptoms are exactly the same if you use the bare key blade (omitting the chip) so I'm thinking sporadic immo fault. So, unless any other suggestions as to cause - anyone know an easy way to get rid of the immobiliser? Oh, yeah, might help - it's a 1.1 petrol... RE: 106 immobiliser (probably) problem. - maxaret - 25-10-2016 Is that the immobiliser that you have a little metal disc on the key or fob ? If it is - a friend of mine had a prob with hers a few years ago,I just removed the box and all associated wiring, too long ago to remember the details but I am no electric expert and other than a little awkward to get at some of the stuff - I dont remember any real problem with the job. RE: 106 immobiliser (probably) problem. - pdg - 26-10-2016 It's the type with a transponder built into the key (like on a 306)... RE: 106 immobiliser (probably) problem. - maxaret - 26-10-2016 OK - obviously completely different system - sorry couldnt help ! RE: 106 immobiliser (probably) problem. - pdg - 26-10-2016 Nah, no worries. I'm sure I'll find a way around someday... RE: 106 immobiliser (probably) problem. - welshpug - 26-10-2016 that's usually the aerial around the barrel not picking up the chip, its a generic part so one off any other 106/saxo will do, probably crosses to other pugs. |
