WTD GTi6/Rallye Heatsheilds and fuel tank straps - MCH - 16-10-2016

Been under the Rallye the last couple days for a few hours here and there cleaning off surface corrosion and treating...

Unfortunately at least one of the exhaust heatsheilds has seen its day (now in the skip)....

So I am in the market for some nice condition original heatsheilds, they MUST be 100% solid as I'm trying to get the Rallye to as good a state as I can get to put it away for sunny days only...

Also the Fuel tank straps are looking very corroded, rather than drop the tank for days while I sand, treat and paint them I'd like a set either in very good condition ready to fit or again just a solid example I can then paint up...

One last thing for the moment is the inner wing brackets that hold the carbon canister on one side and the arch liner on the other side along with a section of loom (only want the brackets)

any help would be great..

they aren't specific to the gti6.

Ahh I only assumed due to some on ebay stating "except xu10j4rs"

Rear ones on a 6 are certainly different to whats fitted to the Tu engined cars, cant comment for the 1.8/2.0 though.

And yes front ones are different, typically just scrapped a the other day with all of these parts on it and local to you Sad Sorry

Still need these

Rear shield on the 6 is the same as a 5dr 1.8 so I reckon all XU hatches use the same. I've never seen one that isn't rusty though.

Definitely not all the same as I looked a 3 different hatchbacks at a local scrappy yesterday and all were good condition but differed from mine...

Were they all XU engines though? TU and HDi are different.

didn't bother looking as was only after the heat shields

So I've highlighted the ones that come up on my chassis number out of the list...

So number 1 is Gti6/Rallye only
2 seems to be everything excluding the convertible
and 3 is everything except convertible/estate/XU7JP/TU5JP and the XU10J4R by the looks of that?

Also to help jog memories, a picture shamelessly stolen from the 6 site..

The main one I need is the 3rd in from the left at the bottom, this was the worst condition the others I would like but are not as important

looks about right yep, don't forget that there's always going to be small differences in manufacturing especially over 15-20 years.

Ive got at least one of these spare I think.

Deffo got the one from the front of the car, that goes over the cat/downpipe.

Think I might have sold the others as i got a powdercoated set for very sensible money.
