GTI6 catalytic converter gasket? - KevinTW - 13-10-2016

Should there be a gasket between the manifold and CAT or do the springs pull it tight enough? Just pulled the old cat off and no gasket.

There would of been a gasket there, normally stays on the manifold, its a mesh fire ring gasket,
