1.4 meridian gearbox West mids - custom-decals2012 - 16-08-2016 Hi in desperate need of a 1.4 meridian gearbox in West Midlands as close to Coventry as possible. Thanks RE: 1.4 meridian gearbox West mids - Alan_M - 16-08-2016 I've not got a gearbox but I was after one some time ago yet all the ones on EBay were stupid money. I ended up getting a 206 1.4 box for £20. Ratios not exactly the same, but close. Only need to swap the top brackets over and it fits like a glove. Might be an option. I can give the gearbox code off mine if you want. RE: 1.4 meridian gearbox West mids - custom-decals2012 - 17-08-2016 Yes please, I thought the gear selectors were different and the driveshaft lengths. RE: 1.4 meridian gearbox West mids - Toms306 - 17-08-2016 Also hydraulic clutch on 206s unless it's only the bigger engine ones? 106 and saxo 1.4 boxes also fit though. You can also fit a VTR box but the ratios are a lot longer apparently. I went through a few 1.4 'boxes back in the day! Decided I'd rather spend more on fuel for a 1.8 that keep fixing unreliable 1.4s in the end. RE: 1.4 meridian gearbox West mids - Alan_M - 20-08-2016 20CF08 is the one from the 206 1.4. I think the only difference is 3rd is slightly taller. As I mentioned, swap over the top mounting bracket, and the little bracket at the back of the diff casing (a gear linkage mounts to this - I only found out they were slightly different after I had fitted the new box!). No hydro clutch either. I ripped mine from a 33k 206 in the scrappy, should be good for a while..... |
