Off to view anew car! - swampy - 14-05-2016 Well the Mrs has decided after 18 months that's it's time to start looking at a newer car! Top of the list is the Porsche Cayenne diesel! So tomorrow we are off review of 2010 vintage! Not sure how she will get on as the only other auto she has driven was a 308! I'm not sure I want to let the Saab go just yet so hoping she doesn't get on with it! RE: Off to view anew car! - C2K - 14-05-2016 Cool story bro. RE: Off to view anew car! - toseland - 15-05-2016 how can y ou not get on with an auto.. apply throttle, apply brake.. done RE: Off to view anew car! - Toms306 - 15-05-2016 From what I hear of the Cayenne it's pretty uncomfortable! I can't get on with autos lol, prefer engine braking, don't feel as much in control in an auto myself. ![]() RE: Off to view anew car! - WiNgNuTz - 15-05-2016 The only auto I've driven was a Vauxhall Zafira when we went to Alton Towers for the missus' birthday in 2014, can't remember what year the car was, but it was actually quite nice to drive once I got my head around the auto box. Would still rather drive a manual, but as a one-off, it was surprisingly pleasant. /inb4coolstory RE: Off to view anew car! - 1616six - 15-05-2016 New autos are lovely. My company car is an F series BMW 8spd auto. Love it. Seemless. RE: Off to view anew car! - welshpug - 15-05-2016 Can't imagine why anyone would buy a cayenne over a Touareg. unless its purely about showing off the money you haven't got RE: Off to view anew car! - Ben_w - 15-05-2016 (15-05-2016, 11:50 AM)JJ0063 Wrote: New autos are lovely. Ticks all to boxes ,just need to wait and see if the garage will fix a few niggly issues prior to doing the deal She got on fine with the auto box after the first few attempts at putting us through the windscreen RE: Off to view anew car! - WiNgNuTz - 15-05-2016 Haha, yeah that was one of the biggest things to get used to when driving an auto for the first time. Baring in mind, I've been driving 10 years now, there was a couple of moments where we almost ended up as a dash ornament! ![]() RE: Off to view anew car! - Dum-Dum - 16-05-2016 I've also done that, first time in the Octavia VRS at work after not having driven an auto since before I learned to drive. EFA. ![]() RE: Off to view anew car! - Piggy - 16-05-2016 If its anything like the tourag...its awful. My boss here has one. Bad off road. Bad on the road. But no experience of one in drag RE: Off to view anew car! - r3k1355 - 16-05-2016 Well it's just the same question as you'd ask with an X3/X5 or Q5/Q7. Why didn't you buy a Range Rover?? RE: Off to view anew car! - 1616six - 16-05-2016 What's the reason behind wanting a 4x4 such as the Cayenne? Surely it's no more practical than an estate, thirstier, higher tax, as well as the image that comes with something such as a Cayenne (Not a positive image!) For the money you'd have to spend on a 2010 Cayenne, I'm sure there are much much better cars out there? RE: Off to view anew car! - welshpug - 16-05-2016 passat estate! same germanic build quality and materials, much lighter, better on fuel, tows fine, cheaper to service RE: Off to view anew car! - Piggy - 16-05-2016 Octavia estate... Bigger and cheap version of the passat/a4 ![]() RE: Off to view anew car! - lolsteve - 16-05-2016 "I want a porchsce because of the name but want a car that looks down on people " RE: Off to view anew car! - me-tm - 16-05-2016 I just find it amusing that a member of a 306 forum is talking about buying a Cayenne. Those are just worlds apart! ![]() RE: Off to view anew car! - Silky - 16-05-2016 How did you get on Swampy? I really like the Cayenne, though when I look to go for something that sort of size, I think I'll look at the Macan. Though the garage wouldn't replace the brake pads or refurb the two alloys so the hunt goes on No real need for the car of that type but with the miles we do then why not We can afford it , have done the sports cars, sensible diesel cars etc An itch needs itching RE: Off to view anew car! - toseland - 16-05-2016 what;s that 4 door saloon porsche, cant remember the name? that's a proper prosche panamera! RE: Off to view anew car! - swampy - 18-05-2016 This looks likely to be going on hold for a while as I was offered a new job yesterday which comes with a very nice company car which I am able to use for personal use. So no real need to buy a newer family car I'm sure we will look at these again in the future RE: Off to view anew car! - toseland - 18-05-2016 Get me a new job, lol, I need a change of career! |
