front suspension - procta - 26-03-2016

Ok lads, i think something isn't right here, we stripped the car down to swop the dampers over, as one has failed. I think i was given the wrong dampers for the car, as the replacement rears were like the metros standard suspension it was that f*cking bouncy!  My mate gave me a set of Gti ones, the thinkness was night and day!!
Now we have had a the same failure again hence why the car is in bits and a f*cked spring now.
The damper we took off has these two pieces, the dust cover i can swop over, but the rubber cone buffer thing, my replacement damper doesn't have, My dad thinks it needs to go on, but i am not sure what the crack is anymore, with the f*ck on i had with the rear of the car.
Since the fools at the motors discount gave me the shite that is on the car now, the car never felt stable.
i am starting to wonder if they gave me a mix match of parts, as the rears looked like they were from a lower spec 306, that's if they were for the 306 even!
i only just got the car at the time, so we didn't know what the car was.

Any ideas or info you lads can give me, as i am starting are we missing parts etc.
Cheers lads.

not sure what the question is here?

but ive always had to swap the bump stops over when putting new dampers on, as they generally don't come with them. same as they don't come with top mounts ..etc

I have just rebooted my pc, ZX, as it crashed during my 1st post! only half was posted by the looks of it, but you answered my question, which I was about to edit in anyway!

DO NOT INSTALL THOSE DAMPERS!! The dampers you have bought for yours is meant for a 1.1, not a 2.0 HDi!!

It took me a bloody age to figure out which Bilsteins were the right ones for my 306 2.0 HDi.

Bilstein do have an online catalogue (Do not trust their bump stops / dust cover pack..I bought it and it didn't fit Undecided)

http://web1.carparts-cat.com/default.aspx?230=1&36=0&35=171&32=12406&34=0,100011,100121&14=4&10=BB319478F1F7494598E53E81D4EB6917018004&12=130

Anyway, the dampers you need are:

Bilstein B4 Front Left Hand Gas Shock Absorber / Suspension Damper - 22-045676

Bilstein B4 Front Right Hand Gas Shock Absorber / Suspension Damper - 22-045669

Bilstein B4 Rear Shock Absorber / Gas Suspension Damper - 19-019314 x 2
