Hi Guys,
As per the title where is the best place to buy DS2500 pads? From what ive read they seem to be the best but need to be warm so the first few stops can be fairly interesting!

Seem to be £70 in the above brake pad reviews but then on ebay and tweeks they seem to be at least £150! Have prices really more than doubled?

Remember the price of a given brake pad varies massively depending on fitment, and it's not clear in that link what brake setup they're talking about.
DS2500's are £70 odd for 205 GTi calipers for example, but twice that for 306 GTi-6.
Worth checking the prices for Clio 172/182 pads as from memory they're very similar and will fit into GTi-6 calipers, but they're often quite a lot cheaper.
DS2500's are a very good pad though in my experience - work well from cold on the road, stand up to a decent amount of abuse on track (in a 205 at least) and have good wear/dust characteristics.

just paid £70 for a set of Mintex M1144, i must say im well impressed on track, i wernt using them to the max in any way they had way more to give

Yes Clio 182 are the same pad pretty much just larger so new disc's are needed really, Also once Ferodo's have been fitted you cannot use anything else until the disc's are changed, its the compound of the pad for this issue.

So 182 pads are cheaper and bigger! This needs to be a sticky. Great bit of brake info there. Will be investing when my pads wear down.

Had 1144s... Just squealed unless warm and didnt feel great.
Now on ds2500r's... Amazing imho. No squeal, cleaned up the disc no end from the 1144s damage and imo they pull up hard even when cold

try godspeed brakes, they stock carbon lorraine and ferodo, as do kam racing.

umm i'm not bothered as I've changed back to std for road use,
as they are for competition use only as instructed on the box

Interesting as I never particularly rated 1144's as a track pad.
They work well enough on the road (although noisy as said) and could just about stand up to track use on something light like a 205, but really weren't up to the job for something heavier like a 306. Indeed, I think from memory a 306 with GTi-6 brakes and 1144's remains the only car I've ever managed to get significant brake fade on at the 'Ring.
Certainly I went from 1144's to DS2500's and found them better in every way - well worth the modest difference in cost IMO.
Tempted to try something from Carbon Lorraine next as I keep hearing good things.

RC5+ are worth a go, RC6 are awesome but eat discs leaving metal bits everywhere

1144's are great for fast road, don't need warming up and work perfectly come rain or shine, but no, they don't offer the fade resistance of 2500 or similar.
That said, 2500 can be a bitch for deposits and brake judder as you can overheat it without realising because of that.

If 2500 get too hot they tend to crumble quite nicely.

At that price I'd be going down the Pagid route, Much better pad than the Ferodo's, More like the RC6 as they do eat Disc's but work cold or hot and I;ve never had them fade

anyone got the ferodo part number for the correct pads for gti6 front callipers? there seem to be lots around and its difficult to find the right ones!

these are the ones with the bigger surface area that fit the gti6 caliper? Ive read you need new discs to run them otherwise you will just be running them on the lips and they wont wear properly?

Found the following on the gti6 forum.
"I found that FCP1063 match exactly the standard pad shape.
FCP565 are slightly deeper and use the full surface of the disc (but you have to fit them with new discs)."
Ive been out and checked my discs and they have lips so looks like ill have to go for the standard shape. The code is FCP1063H where the H is DS2500.
FCP1063H ordered for £150.24 which was the best price i could find.
