Parts and Tools for Engine Swap? - bigcheez2k3 - 17-02-2016

Will be swapping the engine on mine next week, same engine just a bit less leaky and a non-whining gearbox.

Sorting out parts to order, list so far:

Manifold gasket
Fuel/oil filters
Oil
Gearbox oil
Driveshaft seals
Exhaust conical gasket
Cambelt kit (tensioners, water pump)

I know I need something for the injectors, fire seals and copper washers?

Also, any tools that will crop up? I have the usual array of sockets, spanners, hammers, blah blah. Thinking more specialist things, like a torque wrench, which I assume would be needed when changing the cambelt?

Probably worth adding a new clutch, water pump, tensioners and aux belt whilst it's out.

BFO breaker bar with a socket for the drive shafts a couple of crowbars for when something is bound to get stuck, got pair of side cutters for anything you want to cut off

Be worth getting a head set as that will come with all the gaskets you need for the head like exhaust and inlet etc as well as the the washers/seals for the injector. I've had victor rienz sets and it had all the gaskets i needed. Was around the £30 mark. Poss also worth get both crank seals but it all depends how far you want to go with the new engine. Be worth getting a couple meters of leak off pipe though as that tends to break when its a few years old.

Oh and probably worth going to Peugeot to get that breather pipe that always brakes that goes from the oil filler to the rocker cover. I got the part number some where if you need it

Broke that pipe yesterday so if you have the number that would be great. EDIT: Is it 1180 86?

Does anyone know which cambelt I'd need? Looking on ECP and there is a 125 tooth one and a 136. EDIT: Service box says 136 so went with that. Was having trouble trying find a gates kit as ebay was being wank so went with something from ECP.

Yeah 118086 is the 1, i also changed the other breather pipe that goes from the filler neck to the block as they go hard as well. Part no. for that is 119248 just incase you do want to change that as well

You'll need coolant and PAS fluid as well if that's not already on the list.
