Camshaft carrier - Steve1990 - 07-02-2016

Has anyone had experience with leaking camshaft carrier on hdi. Can seem to find a gasket or is it rtv / silicon sealant thanks

RE: Camshaft carrier - madmadmax - 07-02-2016

the black plastic cover is a gasket and the cam carrier is a sealant

With the price of your oil I wouldn't worry about losing a bit... Tongue

Whats worrying me most is if it ends up on exhaust manifold

Yes replaced that about 6 months ago it only leaking in back corner im 90 percen sure it the cam carrier but a spose it worth a check

Over-tightening can cause those cam cover seals to leak, they only need something daft like 12nm iirc. Another option is the vacuum pump seal, they seem to be a common place for leaks.
